High‐Performance Prevascularized SHED‐Laden rGO@Hydrogel Achieves Optimized Diabetic Bone Defect Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐performance 3D scaffold integrating rGO and SHEDs is developed to overcome impaired healing in diabetic bone defects. By driving extracellular matrix remodeling, rGO creates a pro‐angiogenic niche that significantly accelerates in vitro vascular network formation.

Update on trabecular bone score

open access: yesArchives of Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2022
Trabecular bone score (TBS) is an indirect and noninvasive measure of bone quality. A low TBS indicates degraded bone microarchitecture, predicts osteoporotic fracture, and is partially independent of clinical risk factors and bone mineral density (BMD).

Oxygen Vacancy‐Enriched Platinum Single‐Atom Nanozyme Wrapped in Nanoislands: Unlocking Catalytic Activity and Reprogramming Redox Microenvironment for Osteonecrosis Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CeO2‐x/Pt single‐atom nano‐island is constructed via low‐temperature reduction, featuring abundant oxygen vacancies and an island–sea structure. It delivers outstanding multi‐enzyme‐mimetic activity and ROS‐scavenging efficiency. Density functional theory reveals optimized electronic structures and reaction pathways.

Engineered Exosomal miR‐146a‐5p Reprograms BMSC Fate and Restores Mitochondrial Homeostasis in Glucocorticoid‐Induced Osteonecrosis of Femoral Head

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exosomal miR‐146a‐5p is identified as a pivotal regulator in steroid‐induced osteonecrosis. Its reduction activates NF‐κB signaling, compromises mitophagy, and disrupts mitochondrial bioenergetics, resulting in autophagic disequilibrium. Engineered exosomes delivering miR‐146a‐5p reinstate mitochondrial function, augment oxidative phosphorylation and ...

Trabecular Bone Score Improves Early After Successful Kidney Transplantation Irrespective of Antiresorptive Therapy and Changes in Bone Mineral Density

open access: yesTransplantation Direct
Background. Trabecular bone score (TBS) is a new tool to assess trabecular bone microarchitecture based on standard dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) of lumbar spine images.

Targeting a Myeloid–Regulatory B Cell Network Reverses Immune Paralysis in Periprosthetic Joint Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Periprosthetic joint infection establishes a sophisticated immunosuppressive network between CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSCs and Bregs, inducing profound CD8+ T cell paralysis. Alendronate effectively disrupts this CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSC–Breg axis by targeting STAT3, thereby restoring local immune surveillance.

AB1173 Correlation between trabecular bone score (TBS) and naifold videocapillaroscopy in systemic sclerosispatients [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2018
Background Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is associated with an increased risk of altered bone and fractures as a result of multiple factors, including treatment-related side effects, low vitamin D serum concentrations and reduced physical activity.1 Trabecular Bone Score (TBS) is an index extracted from dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) analysis, that

Update on the utility of trabecular bone score (TBS) in clinical practice for the management of osteoporosis: a systematic review by the Egyptian Academy of Bone and Muscle Health

open access: yesEgyptian Rheumatology and Rehabilitation
Trabecular bone score (TBS) is a grayscale textural assessment resulting from a computed evaluation of pixel gray-level variations in previously obtained lumbar spine DXA images. It is an index of bone microarchitecture correlated with parameters of bone

Discontinuing Long‐Term Denosumab in Treating Fragile Bone: Why, for Whom, and How?

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Discontinuation of denosumab (Dmab) may be necessary due to adverse events or an unfavorable long‐term risk–benefit profile. However, accumulating evidence demonstrates pronounced rebound phenomena after withdrawal, most notably a marked increase in multiple vertebral fractures, and, in some reports, elevated mortality.

The assessment of Trabecular bone score to improve the sensitivity of FRAX in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

open access: yesОжирение и метаболизм, 2017
Aim. To estimate the trabecular bone score (TBS) for evaluation of fracture probability in order to make decisions about starting osteoporosis treatment in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Materials and methods. We obtained the bone mineral
