Precise Control of Drug Release in Machine Learning‐Designed Antibody‐Eluting Implants for Postoperative Scarring Inhibition in Glaucoma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a micro‐sized, biocompatible implant for postoperative sustained delivery of anti‐fibrotic antibodies in glaucoma surgery. Machine learning‐guided optimization of polymer composition, implant geometry, and porosity enabled precise control of drug release.

Bearing clearance test and lifetime analysis for EMU traction motor

open access: yes机车电传动, 2022
The mechanical load is the only factor of influence considered in the traditional bearing lifetime prediction algorithm. However, for the traction motor of the electric multiple units (EMUs) in actual working conditions, its bearing is also subject to ...

Myosin IIA deficient cells migrate efficiently despite reduced traction forces at cell periphery

open access: yesBiology Open, 2013
Summary Cell motility is a cornerstone of embryogenesis, tissue remodeling and repair, and cancer cell invasion. It is generally thought that migrating cells grab and exert traction force onto the extracellular matrix in order to pull the cell body ...

Intercellular Stress Reconstitution from Traction Force Data [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2014
Cells migrate collectively during development, wound healing, and cancer metastasis. Recently, a method has been developed to recover intercellular stress in monolayers from measured traction forces upon the substrate. To calculate stress maps in two dimensions, the cell sheet was assumed to behave like an elastic material, and it remains unclear to ...

A 3D Bioprinted Spheroid‐Laden dECM‐Enriched Osteosarcoma Model for Enhanced Drug Testing and Therapeutic Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D biomimetic OS model was developed by bioprinting an OS‐cell‐derived dECM‐enriched bioink with OS spheroids incorporated. The model showed upregulation of known OS prognostic markers and increased resistance to doxorubicin, compared to 2D cultures and scaffold‐free spheroids, making this a more clinically relevant platform for drug discovery ...

Dynamics of Torque-Speed Profiles for Electric Vehicles and Nonlinear Models Based on Differential-Algebraic Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The so-called μ — λ curves, where is the slip ratio and μ is the normalised traction force or the friction index, are nonlinear functions of the velocity of the vehicle and the wheel rotational velocity.

Application of Fuzzy control algorithms for electric vehicle antilock braking/traction control systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
—The application of fuzzy-based control strategies has recently gained enormous recognition as an approach for the rapid development of effective controllers for nonlinear time-variant systems.

Traction Force Microscopy for Noninvasive Imaging of Cell Forces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The forces exerted by cells on their surroundings play an integral role in both physiological processes and disease progression. Traction force microscopy is a noninvasive technique that enables the in vitro imaging and quantification of cell forces. Utilizing expertise from a variety of disciplines, recent developments in traction force microscopy are

Spatial Patterning of Modular Gelatin‐Peroxide Microspheres in Melt‐Electrowritten Scaffolds Provides Controlled Oxygen Generation and Mitigates Hypoxia and Cytotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A bioassembly approach is described using photo‐crosslinked gelatin‐based microgels containing calcium peroxide (CaO2) to generate oxygen (O2) and enhance cell survival in hypoxic conditions (1% O2). Bioassembly enables spatial patterning of individual CaO2‐laden and mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)‐laden microgels and allows for decoupling and mitigating ...

Substrate mediated interaction between pairs of keratocytes: Multipole traction force models describe their migratory behavior.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
A series of traction force microscopy experiments involving pairs of keratocytes migrating on compliant substrates were analyzed. We observed several instances where keratocytes that are about to collide turn before they touch.
