Identification of Gut Biomarkers of FPIES in a Longitudinal Comparative Pediatric Study

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 80, Issue 5, Page 1389-1399, May 2025.
We compared fecal biomarkers related to gut inflammation and immunity in children with FPIES, with resolved FPIES (tolerant), and in matched controls. Allergic patients had no measurable gut inflammation (calprotectin, EDN) on elimination diet. Inflammation was transitory after an acute allergic reaction.

A Multi‐Fidelity Model for Wave Energy Converters

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, Volume 97, Issue 4, Page 427-445, April 2025.
Implementation of a multi‐fidelity model for simulations of floating bodies in bi‐fluid flows. Integration of Computational Fluid Dynamics with a Reduced Order Model based on Proper Orthogonal Decomposition. Validation of the multi‐fidelity model through out‐of‐sample simulations of a wave energy converter interacting with incoming waves.

Accurate Reconstruction of Right Heart Shape and Motion From Cine‐MRI for Image‐Driven Computational Hemodynamics

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, Volume 41, Issue 1, January 2025.
This work introduces a novel semi‐automatic method for the reconstruction of detailed patient‐specific right heart geometry and motion from multi‐planar and time resolved cine‐MRI. Thanks to the merging of several cine‐MRI acquisitions, the method guarantees high reconstruction accuracy w.r.t. standard techniques.

Formulation and solution framework for real‐time railway traffic management with demand prediction

open access: yesIET Intelligent Transport Systems, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The paper proposes a predictive optimization framework for rail traffic management. The framework integrates a demand prediction module, a passenger demand assignment module and a traffic management module. The first dynamically predicts future origin‐destination passenger flows. Then, the demand assignment module links predicted passengers to specific

Spectral Decomposition of the Weinstein Laplacian and Its Application to the Associated Heat Transform

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
For the Weinstein Laplacian considered on the Hilbert space which makes it a self‐adjoint operator, the Von Neumann spectral decomposition is given. As applications, a new integral representation for the Weinstein heat kernel is given. Also, it is proved that the spectrum of the semigroup associated with the Weinstein Laplacian is reduced to its ...

Photo‐induced polymerization of styrene‐maleic acid copolymers for the extraction of membrane proteins

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 62, Issue 23, Page 5277-5288, 1 December 2024.
Abstract We report herein the photoinduced electron/energy transfer–reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (PET‐RAFT) polymerization of styrene‐maleic anhydride (SMAnh) using the photocatalyst, zinc tetraphenylporphirine, under a white cool LED light. PET‐RAFT is an easy and convenient polymerization method that does not require deoxygenation

Elucidations of electronic and optical properties of the w‐ZnCh (Ch=O, S and Se) compounds: Insights from Ab‐initio calculations and spectroscopy measurements

open access: yesIET Optoelectronics, Volume 18, Issue 6, Page 188-218, December 2024.
The authors’ research study employs full‐potential (linearised) augmented plane wave (FP‐(L)APW) calculations alongside experimental techniques to elucidate the band structures, dielectric functions, and other significant optical parameters of w‐ZnO, w‐ZnS, and w‐ZnSe. The band gap values derived theoretically, 2.72 eV for w‐ZnO, 3.87 eV for w‐ZnS, and

Effect of the Precursor Metal Salt on the Oxygen Evolution Reaction for NiFe Oxide Materials

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 11, Issue 17, September 2, 2024.
The synthesis of NiFe oxide is sensible to the choice of the precursor. The secondary phases favored by the precursor metal salt can affect the resulting oxygen evolution reaction performance. More specifically, Fe2O3 and single‐phase nickel‐based materials, seem to be the hindering source of the NiFe Layered Double Hydroxide (LDH) oxygen evolution ...
