Targeting of keloid with TRAIL and TRAIL-R2/DR5

open access: yesJournal of Dermatological Treatment, 2020
Keloid is a common and frequently-occurring disease in plastic surgery, and its ugly appearance and itching symptoms bring mental and life pain to patients. However, the clinical treatment of keloid, such as drug injection treatment, surgical resection, cryotherapy, laser treatment and other therapeutic effects are poor.

Cyclophosphamide chemotherapy sensitizes tumor cells to TRAIL-dependent CD8 T cell-mediated immune attack resulting in suppression of tumor growth

open access: yes, 2009
Background: Anti-cancer chemotherapy can be simultaneously lymphodepleting and immunostimulatory. Pre-clinical models clearly demonstrate that chemotherapy can synergize with immunotherapy, raising the question how the immune system can be mobilized to ...

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Mixed‐class J‐domain protein scaffolds promote expanded aggregate handling and multivalent Hsp70 engagement during functional disaggregase assembly

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

Dynamics of the left ventricular ejection fraction after revascularization in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, association with the TRAIL protein [PDF]

open access: yesТерапевтический архив
Aim. To study the association of dynamics of the ejection fraction (EF) of the left ventricle (LV) with the development of adverse cardiovascular events within 12 months after revascularization in patients with chronic heart failure with preserved LV EF (

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

An increase of the region's competitiveness through effective tourist product management: an example using the thematic trail

open access: yesHumanities and Social Sciences, 2020
The present article explores the possibility of increasing the competitiveness of regions by creating interesting tourist products that are based on local resources. An example of such a regional tourist product is the thematic (or ‘nature’) trail.

On the campaign trail [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ, 1983
One of the aspects of a general election campaign that the voters never see is the way that a party leader's speech grows and grows in performance. The point is that the actual audience at each rally hears basically the same speech, but with sections added to highlight the issue of the day.
