Review of Scientific Instruments, 2003The ion trajectories for a heavy ion beam probe (HIBP) diagnostic for the National Spherical Torus experiment NSTX are simulated. The National Spherical Torus experiment (NSTX) equilibria modeled include both low β and high β (β=23%) discharges. The simulation used a sodium ion beam with energies varying from 350 to 550 keV.
