FGF13 Deficiency Ameliorates Paclitaxel‐Induced Neuropathic Pain by Inhibiting VASH1‐Mediated Microtubule Detyrosination to Promote Mitophagy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FGF13 is upregulated in DRG neurons of PIPNP model mice. DRG neuron‐specific knockout of FGF13 ameliorates PIPNP symptoms. Mechanistically, FGF13 potentiates microtubule detyrosination by promoting VASH1 binding to microtubules. FGF13 knockout suppresses VASH1‐mediated microtubule detyrosination and promotes α‐tubulin tyrosination.

Trans-fatty acids in Portuguese food products [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
There is consistent evidence of adverse health effects from industrial trans-fatty acids (TFAs). Several measures to limit TFA intake have already been taken in various countries, but limited information is available in several countries on the actual ...

Multi‐Omics Insights Into the Mechanisms of Early Muscle Fiber Difference and Transformation Between Lean‐Type and Chinese Indigenous Pigs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐omics analyses uncover breed‐specific cis‐regulatory landscapes and higher‐order chromatin architectural differences that underlie early postnatal muscle fiber divergence in pigs. A super‐enhancer upstream of PPP3CB recruits MEF2C to activate PPP3CB transcription, while the PPP3CB–MEF2C positive feedback loop promotes oxidative muscle fiber ...

FACTS ABOUT TRANS FATTY ACIDS

open access: yesARYA Atherosclerosis, 2010
Introduction Fatty acids constitute the main class of lipids in the human diet, being found in nature mainly as glycerol esters that originate triacylglycerols. In the vegetal and animal kingdoms, fatty acids generally have cis unsaturations.

Fatty acid composition and nutritional relevance of most widely consumed margarines in Spain

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2003
This study examines the fatty acid composition of margarines of major consumption in Spain in 2000. All the margarines contained at least 20% of linoleic acid, the average content of this fatty acid being 38%.

Vascular dysfunction induced in offspring by maternal dietary fat involves altered arterial polyunsaturated fatty acid biosynthesis

open access: yes, 2012
Nutrition during development affects risk of future cardiovascular disease. Relatively little is known about whether the amount and type of fat in the maternal diet affect vascular function in the offspring.

Spontaneous Non‐Catalyzed Molecular Reactions and Interactions in the Human Body: Biomedical Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The human body functions as a natural reactor for a vast network of chemical and biological reactions and physical interactions among small molecules, proteins, cells, and numerous other components. These reactions/interactions are essential for maintaining normal physiological functions.

Secreted Nonstructural Protein 3 is a Pathogenic Determinant of Orbivirus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a conserved PIP2‐dependent secretory pathway of orbivirus NS3 that induces vascular leakage. Pharmacological disruption of PIP2‐NS3 interaction significantly reduces viral pathogenicity and provides protective efficacy in murine models, establishing PIP2‐mediated NS3 secretion as both a key virulence determinant and a promising ...
