Transient polarity protection of transformer using wavelet transform

7th IET International Conference on Advances in Power System Control, Operation and Management (APSCOM 2006), 2006
Wavelet transform is a powerful tool for the analysis of transient phenomena because of its ability to extract information from the transient signals simultaneously in both the time and frequency domain. This paper presents a novel technique for accurate discrimination between an internal fault and a magnetizing inrush current in the power transformer ...

Improving transient performance of signal transformation approach

2012 IEEE 51st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2012
A method is proposed to significantly improve the transient performance of Signal Transformation Approach (STA). For triangular reference signals, the proposed method is shown to be equivalent to a recently proposed hybrid control method, known as Impulsive State Multiplication (ISM), if the compensator contains at least two integrators.

Transformer modelling for transient studies

2009
Transformer modelling is a concern for the utility industry. The object of this work is to develop and investigate dynamic core models suitable for transient studies. A major advantage of the core models developed here is that they use readily available transformer test data as supplied by the manufacturer. For ferroresonance and inrush current studies,

Isolation, Culture, and Transient Transformation of Plant Protoplasts

Current Protocols in Cell Biology, 2014
AbstractTransient gene expression in protoplasts, which has been used in several plant species, is an important and versatile tool for rapid functional gene analysis, protein subcellular localization, and biochemical manipulations. This unit describes transient gene expression by electroporation of DNA into protoplasts of Arabidopsis or tobacco ...

Transient characteristics of current transformers during faults

Electrical Engineering, 1942
THE factors involving current-transformer performance that affect the operation of protective equipment have recently received considerable attention.1–3 The fact that the transient performance may be greatly different from the steady-state performance has been recognized, but little quantitative data on transient performance have been published.

Transient Transformation of A. thaliana Seedlings by Vacuum Infiltration

2020
Transient expression in Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings allows fast expression of fluorescent markers for different subcellular compartments. This protocol describes a transient transformation assay with five-day-old seedlings using Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated vacuum infiltration.

Transform Analysis and Transient Response

2019
Transform means change in form. For example, in finding the derivative of the product of two functions, we use the product rule and transform the problem into an easier one. Multiplication operation is more difficult than addition operation. By expressing the numbers in logarithmic form, we reduce the multiplication operation into an addition.

Impedances for the Calculation of Electromagnetic Transients within Transformers

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 2002
In this paper, a deep analysis of the behavior of transformer winding impedances for high frequencies is performed. The properties of inductance matrices are analyzed, as well as the possibility of making assumptions and their range of validity. The properties of resistance matrices are also analyzed, which has not been made in the past. The discussion

Detection of transients using discrete wavelet transform

[Proceedings] ICASSP-92: 1992 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1992
A scheme for the detection of transient signals with unknown waveforms and arrival times is presented. The detection is performed in the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) domain, where the presence of a transient is indicated by a peak at a location that depends on the values of the dilation and translation parameters.
