Selecting and defining transversal competences for higher education training design

open access: yesFrontiers in Education
Transversal competences, such as flexibility, collaboration or critical thinking, are proving to be key not only in academic performance but also in professional and personal performance. In response to a growing demand for research and training in these

Analysis of longitudinal and innovative transversal 3D printed lattice tubular braid textures subjected to internal compression as reinforcement

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Textiles, 2022
The longitudinal tubular braid texture (maypole braid) is an important texture in industrial textiles with extensive applications for composites reinforcement as a continuous form in a continuous process.

Intra- and Interexaminer Measurement Variability Analysis of an Orthodontic Gauge Device to Determine Incisor Occlusal Surface Angles in the Horse

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences, 2022
Incisor malocclusions are common in horses. As yet, an evidence-based understanding of incisor occlusal surface angle dynamics and normocclusal range is missing.

Transversal designs and induced decompositions of graphs [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorics, 2016
We prove that for every complete multipartite graph $F$ there exist very dense graphs $G_n$ on $n$ vertices, namely with as many as ${n\choose 2}-cn$ edges for all $n$, for some constant $c=c(F)$, such that $G_n$ can be decomposed into edge-disjoint induced subgraphs isomorphic to~$F$.

Carcinomas and Carcinoid Tumors of the Lungs and Bronchi in Children and Adolescents: The EXPeRT Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

Remarks on Translation Transversal Designs

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1994
The author studies the existence for translation transversal designs, i.e. for transversal designs (for short, TTDs) admitting a group \(G\) which acts regularly on the point set and for which the block orbits induce a parallelism. It is known that a TTD with parameters \((s,k,\lambda)\) is equivalent to a certain type of partition of \(G\) into ...

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Amplified Fiber-Optic Recirculating Delay Lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Experimental and theoretical results on single- and double-amplified recirculating delay lines are presented. One of our aims is to emphasize their application as filters, showing a wide flexibility of design.

Multilayer transverse gradient coil design [PDF]

open access: yesConcepts in Magnetic Resonance Part B: Magnetic Resonance Engineering, 2003
AbstractIn small, cylindrical gradient coils consisting of a single layer of wires, the limiting factor in achieving large magnetic field gradients is the rapid increase in coil resistance with efficiency. This behavior results from the decrease in the maximum usable wire diameter as the number of turns is increased.

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...
