Trimethoprim‐sulfamethoxazole (TMP‐SMX) is widely prescribed and generally well tolerated, yet rare cases of severe idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity have been reported.

ABSTRACT A 70‐year‐old woman with transfusion‐dependent anemia and ongoing gastrointestinal bleeding had inconclusive findings on imaging, upper endoscopy, and colonoscopy. Capsule endoscopy revealed the diagnosis: diffuse hookworm infestation causing active bleeding throughout the small bowel and colon.
