The air‐stable [(Salen*)Co(OAc)] complex initiates the radical polymerization of vinyl monomers via Co–O bond homolysis, distinguishing it from classical air‐sensitive cobalt complexes relying on Co‐C bond cleavage. Accordingly, MMA polymerization proceeds via catalytic chain‐transfer while MA undergoes controlled OMRP involving two distinct initiation

Polyesteracetals via TBD Catalyzed Ring‐Opening Polymerization
The ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of a cyclic hemiacetal ester catalyzed by 1,5,7‐triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec‐5‐ene (TBD) yields statistical copolymers containing esteracetal as well as ester repeating units. Their ratio can be tailored through adjustment of the ROP conditions.

Studies of the thermal rearrangements of dispiro-1,2,4-Trioxanes [PDF]
A series of α-alkoxy-3,6-dispiro-1,2,4-trioxanes have been synthesised by acid-catalysed perhydrolyses of α-alkoxy methylenecyclohexane oxides (provides ring A) to give selectively the corresponding 1-hydroperoxy-1-(hydroxymethyl)cyclohexanes followed

The cyclisation of unsaturated peroxides [PDF]
The reactions of several γ,δ-unsaturated hydroperoxides with tert-butyl hypochlorite have been investigated, and it has been shown that this provides a general synthesis of 3-(1-chloroalkyl)-1,2-dioxolanes.
