Triterpene glycosides fromSaponaria officinalis

The roots ofSaponaria officinalis L. have yielded the known triterpene glycoside gypsoside and the first glycoside of gypsogenic acid, which has been named saponaroside. Saponaroside is the 3-β-D-xylopyranoside of gypsogenic acid.
