Glucuronic acid (GlcA), a key bioactive component of Phellinus igniarius polysaccharides (PIPs), downregulates the expression of the transcription factor SREBP1, thereby suppressing the transcription of its downstream lipogenic enzymes FASN and SCD1. This action leads to reduced lipid accumulation and alleviation of NAFLD.
