Xyloglucan (amyloid) formation in the cotyledons of Tropaeolum majus L. seeds

Plant Cell Reports, 1986
Mature seeds of Tropaeolum majus L. contain the cell wall polysaccharide xyloglucan (amyloid), protein and lipid as storage substances. The transitory occurrence of starch during the process of seed development could be substantiated.[U-(14)C]-labelled xylose, glucose and glucuronic acid were fed to ripening seeds and the incorporation of radioactivity

Chromoplasts of Tropaeolum majus L.: Structure and development

Planta, 1976
The fine structure of chromoplasts in epidermal cells of flower petals of Tropaeolum has been investigated by light, polarizing, and electron microscopy at different stages of development. The pale greenish-yellow petals still enclosed in the bud contain barely differentiated chloroplasts with few, irregular grana.

Gibberellin-like activity in suspensors of Tropaeolum majus L. and Cytisus laburnum L.

Planta, 1984
Gibberellins in the embryo-suspensor system have been considered so far only in Phaseolus coccineus. We present in this report the localization of gibberellin-like substances in the suspensors of Tropaeolum majus L. and Cytisus laburnum L. The total gibberellin activity (expressed as gibberellic-acid equivalent in the α-amylase bioassay) in 2000 ...

Keimungsverhalten der Kapuzinerkresse Tropaeolum majus L.

2023
This bachelor thesis focuses on different priming techniques for Tropaeolum majus (T. majus) seeds reaching from mechanical scarification to cold stratification. Furthermore, chemical stratification by using different concentrations of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) (0 %, 47.5 %, 95 %) for three different soak times (5 min, 10 min, 30 min) were also conducted ...

Chromoplasts of Tropaeolum majus L.: Lipid synthesis in whole organelles and subfractions

Planta, 1978
Isolation of tubulous chromoplasts from Tropaeolum majus L. petals was achieved in pure form. Their main substructures-lipid bodies, tubules, and envelope membranes-have been enriched. Whole chromoplasts as well as substructures have been tested for their activities in lipid synthesis.

Kapucinka (Tropaeolum majus L.) - obetaven vir protiglivnih učinkovin

2022
Kontaminacija s plesnimi je ena od pogostih težav v živilski verigi od polja do mize. Plesni povzročajo bolezni kmetijskih pridelkov in kvarjenje hrane, njihovi mikotoksini so škodljivi za zdravje ljudi in živali. Spore plesni so prisotne povsod v naravi, omogočajo preživetje v različnih stresnih razmerah, hitro širjenje in rast plesni na različnih ...

Xyloglucan (amyloid) mobilisation in the cotyledons of Tropaeolum majus L. seeds following germination

Planta, 1985
The levels of cell-wall xyloglucan (amyloid) in nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus L.) cotyledons were monitored during a 28-d period covering seed imbibition, germination and early seedling development. The activities of the following enzymes capable of hydrolysing the glycosidic linkages in the xyloglucan were assayed in cotyledon extracts over the same ...

Early Embryogenesis in Tropaeolum majus L.: Ultrastructure of the Embryo-Suspensor

Biochemie und Physiologie der Pflanzen, 1976
Summary The suspensor of the nasturtium, Tropaeolum majus L., is a several millimeter large, tripartite embryonic organ. The giant cells of the embryo-suspending thread (“embryo-suspensor”) are connected to the embryo with plasmodesmata. Their ultrastructure gradually changes from the apical pole to the basal cell mass.

Content of vitamin C in leaves and flowers of Tropaeolum majus L.

2013
Nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus L.) is an annual herbaceous plant native to South America. It has a pleasant appearance, the leaves are nearly round and permeate with thick nervature. Flowers are found in many colors, mostly yellow, orange and red. It can be high, low, creeping and often is used as a ground cover and as the protector of the orchard from ...
