Trophectoderm cell subpopulations in the periimplantation mouse blastocyst

Journal of Experimental Zoology, 1984
AbstractTrophectoderm of the preimplantation mouse blastocyst is composed of two cell subpopulations relative to their proximity to the inner cell mass. The polar trophectoderm overlying the inner cell mass proliferates to form the ectoplacental cone, and the mural trophectoderm endoreplicates and gives rise to giant cells.

Mosaicism between trophectoderm and inner cell mass

Fertility and Sterility, 2017
Defining the actual incidence and prevalence of mosaicism in human blastocysts still remains a difficult task. The small amount of evidence generated by animal and human studies does not support the existence of mechanisms involved in developmental arrest, clonal depletion, or aneuploidy rescue for abnormal cells in euploid/aneuploid embryos during ...

Radioiodinated surface proteins of rabbit trophectoderm cells

Cell And Tissue Research, 1986
We have previously used surface iodination to discriminate between the protein patterns of epithelial cell surfaces in uteri of rabbits receptive (Day 6.5) or nonreceptive (Day 4) to nidation (Ricketts et al. 1984). In this paper, we describe application of the same technique to the trophoblastic surface of rabbit blastocysts collected on the same days

Interaction between inner cell mass and trophectoderm of the mouse blastocyst : II. The fate of the polar trophectoderm

Development, 1979
ABSTRACT Selective labelling of polar trophectoderm cells in early mouse blastocysts has allowed the fate of polar cells to be followed during in vitro and in vivo blastocyst development. Results show that there is cell movement from polar to mural regions as blastocysts grow. This indicates that trophectoderm cells directly opposite the

Human trophectoderm biopsy and secretion of chorionic gonadotrohin

Human Reproduction, 1991
We have previously developed a technique of trophectoderm biopsy to obtain cells from human blastocysts for preimplantation genetic diagnosis. To determine whether this technique affects the subsequent development of the blastocyst, 45 manipulated blastocysts were observed from days 3 to 14 in culture, the amount of human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG ...

Automatic Segmentation of Trophectoderm in Microscopic Images of Human Blastocysts

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2015
Accurate assessment of embryos viability is an extremely important task in the optimization of in vitro fertilization treatment outcome. One of the common ways of assessing the quality of a human embryo is grading it on its fifth day of development based on morphological quality of its three main components (Trophectoderm, Inner Cell Mass, and the ...

Mouse trophectoderm stem cells generated with morula signalling inducers capture an early trophectoderm state

Nature Cell Biology
The first embryonic cell differentiation in mice segregates the trophectoderm and the inner cell mass. Successful derivation of mouse trophoblast stem cells (TSCs) and trophectoderm stem cells (TESCs) has greatly facilitated the understanding of trophoblast differentiation.

In Vitro Attachment and Outgrowth of Mouse Trophectoderm

1981
Implantation of a mammalian embryo into the uterine lining is a morphodynamic process that is accompanied by marked changes in cellular architecture and subcellular organization. In order to determine the extent to which such changes are mandated by factors external to the embryo, we have examined surface and intracellular changes in fine structure ...

Differentiation of ICM cells into trophectoderm.

The American journal of pathology, 1988
It has been established previously that when inserted in the blastocyst E Ca 247 preferentially differentiates into trophectoderm in vitro. If the concept that tumors are caricatures of the process of tissue renewal is correct, then some cells from the inner cell mass (ICM), the normal counterpart of embryonal carcinoma, should be able to differentiate
