Neural Network Predicted Peak and Trough Gentamicin Concentrations

Pharmaceutical Research, 1995
Predictions of steady state peak and trough serum gentamicin concentrations were compared between a traditional population kinetic method using the computer program NONMEM to an empirical approach using neural networks. Predictions were made in 111 patients with peak concentrations between 2.5 and 6.0 micrograms/ml using the patient factors age, height,

Circadian Variation in Steady-State Trough Theophylline Concentrations

Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, 1986
The temporal variation in trough (i.e., predose) theophylline concentrations at steady state was examined. In general, adult subjects dosed with solid theophylline formulations have morning trough theophylline concentrations 10-16% greater than corresponding evening troughs; this morning-to-evening drop is statistically significant.

Trough Lopinavir Concentrations in Preterm HIV-infected Infants

Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal, 2012
Because of serious adverse effects, the Food and Drug Administration warns against using lopinavir in infants younger than 42 weeks postconception. However, there is an imperative for early treatment. We report on our use of LPV in 8 premature HIV-infected infants. The median age at initiation was 27 days. Trough values guided dosing.

Predictors of Trough Serum Gentamicin Concentrations in Neonates

Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1989
Neonates admitted to an intensive care nursery frequently receive gentamicin sulfate therapy. This study was undertaken to determine predictors of an elevated (greater than or equal to 2 mg/L) trough serum concentration of gentamicin sulfate (undesirable because of potential toxic effects).

Simple structure for parabolic trough concentrator

Energy Conversion and Management, 1994
simple welded frame structure for parabolic trough concentrators suitable for developing countries is described. Static load tests were conducted on this structure to study its deflection characteristics under various load conditions. The results show that the slope error of the reflector support, corresponding to normal wind loads were found to be ...

V-troughs with high concentration ratios for photovoltaic concentrator cells

Solar Cells, 1988
Abstract V-troughs made of plane mirrors are used as solar concentrators with high concentration ratios assuming a normal incidence angle of solar radiation. Because of its uniform illumination, this type of concentrator is found to be suitable for photovoltaic concentrator cells.

Design optimization of fixed V-trough concentrators

2010 Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference, 2010
In this work, a mathematical procedure to predict collectible radiation on the base of a V-trough concentrator, to which solar cells are attached, was developed based on the imaging principle of planar mirrors, solar geometry and monthly horizontal radiation.

A Tubeless V-Trough Solar Concentrator

Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, 1986
An analytical, experimental investigation of the thermal performance of a tubeless V-trough concentrator has been carried out. Considering the energy balance on the receiver plate, a mathematical expression is developed from which the receiver plate mean temperature can be evaluated for each time interval.

Parabolic trough concentrators for low enthalpy processes

Renewable Energy, 2013
Abstract Five parabolic trough concentrating solar collectors were designed, constructed, evaluated, and operated in order to generate hot water and low-enthalpy steam. Three of them were designed with a rim angle of 90° and the other two have a rim angle of 45°.
