Platoon Optimization Based on Truck Pairs
Truck platooning technology allows trucks to drive at short headways to save fuel and associated emissions. However, fuel savings from platooning are relatively small, so forming platoons should be convenient and associated with minimum detours and delays. In this paper, we focus on developing optimization technology to form truck platoons.

Towards Truck Platooning Deployment Requirements
AbstractTruck platooning represents a promising means to enhance efficiency of freight transport. Developments of truck platooning date back to the early 1990s, starting with projects to illustrate the technical feasibility followed by projects investigating the potential of fuel savings up to feasible business models and multi-brand and multi-fleet ...

Cooperative look-ahead control for fuel-efficient and safe heavy-duty vehicle platooning [PDF]
The operation of groups of heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) at a small inter-vehicular distance (known as platoon) allows to lower the overall aerodynamic drag and, therefore, to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Definition of a Python script for the micro-simulation of the truck platooning system
Truck platooning is, by now, one of the major topics in transport science and freight transport. The benefits arising from the system explain the growing interest of the involved stakeholders and the many field-tests planned in the next years.

How to ensure control of cooperative vehicle and truck platoons using Meaningful Human Control
Vehicle cooperation, not vehicle automation, will yield the greatest benefits on road traffic. However, satisfactory human control over platoons of cooperative vehicles still has a large number of uncertainties and issues to be addressed. This paper aims

A Study of Truck Platooning Incentives Using a Congestion Game [PDF]
We introduce an atomic congestion game with two types of agents, cars and trucks, to model the traffic flow on a road over various time intervals of the day. Cars maximize their utility by finding a trade-off between the time they choose to use the road,

Mining truck platooning patterns through massive trajectory data [PDF]
Truck platooning refers to a series of trucks driving in close proximity via communication technologies, and it is considered one of the most implementable systems of connected and automated vehicles, bringing huge energy savings and safety improvements. Properly planning platoons and evaluating the potential of truck platooning are crucial to trucking

Fuel Economy in Truck Platooning: A Literature Overview and Directions for Future Research
A truck platoon is a set of virtually linked trucks that travel in tandem with small intervehicle distances. Several studies have proved that traveling in platoons can significantly improve fuel economy due to the reduced aerodynamic drag.
