Combined acquisition technique (CAT) for neuroimaging of multiple sclerosis at low specific absorption rates (SAR). [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
PURPOSE: To compare a novel combined acquisition technique (CAT) of turbo-spin-echo (TSE) and echo-planar-imaging (EPI) with conventional TSE. CAT reduces the electromagnetic energy load transmitted for spin excitation. This radiofrequency (RF) burden is

A Real‐Data‐Driven Framework for Evaluating Differential Transcript Usage Methods Across Long‐Read Bulk, Single‐Cell, and Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Grounded in real biological RNA‐seq data, the framework benchmarks ten differential transcript usage (DTU) methods across short‐read bulk, long‐read bulk, long‐read single‐cell, and long‐read spatial transcriptomics. By integrating reference transcript sets with ranked DTU results, the Transcript Set Enrichment Score (TSES) identifies data‐type ...

Supramolecular Chiral Assemblies from Benzoselenadiazole‐Alanine‐Acylhydrazone Conjugates Enable Cardioprotection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The C3‐symmetric conjugate TASe, which integrates benzoselenadiazole, alanine, and acylhydrazone modules, self‐assembles into a chalcogen‐/hydrogen‐bonded porous framework in the solid state and uniform chiral nanospheres in aqueous media. These assemblies protect cardiomyocytes from doxorubicin‐induced oxidative injury by scavenging intracellular ...

Image Quality Of T2W TSE Cartesian Versus T2W TSE Blade, A Quantitative Analysis On Axial Cervical MRI

open access: yes, 2022
Backgroud: blurring artifact is an issue in axial cervical MRI using T2 Turbo Spin Echo (TSE) weighted Cartesian. T2W TSE BLADE is potential to substitute its shortcomings.

Cerebral Small Vessel Disease in Immune‐Mediated Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura Patients During the Acute Phase and Disease Remission

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immune‐mediated thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (iTTP) is a life‐threatening thrombotic microangiopathy characterized by acute neurological manifestations and long‐term sequelae related to microvascular brain injury. Cerebral small vessel disease (cSVD), detectable on MRI through lacunes, microbleeds, white matter hyperintensities, and ...

Healthcare resources attributable to child tobacco smoke exposure.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
BackgroundTobacco smoke exposure (TSE) places an economic toll on the U.S. healthcare system. There is a gap in the literature on pediatric emergency department (ED) and urgent care related healthcare costs and utilization specific to tobacco smoke ...

Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita in Pediatric Age: Correlation Between MUScular MRI and Functional Evaluation (AMUSE), Toward a Biomechanical Model

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC) is a group of diseases with joint limitations at two or more distinct joint levels at birth. Joint limitations are not progressive, but the functional consequences have a lifelong impact on patients. The management of these conditions is therefore demanding, necessarily multidisciplinary, and is a long ...

Scoping Software Engineering for AI:The TSE Perspective [PDF]

open access: yes
IEEE TSE would like to take a more nuanced approach with respect to reviewing these “SE for AI” papers. Specifically, we observe that submitted manuscripts frequently go into the depths of core AI techniques to improve them in various ways.

1,2‐propanediol reformulation improves tribromoethanol safety and reveals pontine GABRA1 enrichment as a candidate mechanistic correlate of anesthesia

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
This study develops a reformulated tribromoethanol (TBE) anesthetic using 1,2‐propanediol as a solvent to overcome solvent‐related toxicity. The novel formulation demonstrates, cardiovascular stability, and survival in prolonged protocols. It provides potent, dose‐dependent anesthesia without strain or sex differences.
