Clinical Comparison of Tubocurarine and Pancuronium [PDF]

open access: yesAnaesthesia and Intensive Care, 1972
In a blind trial, using matched pairs, intubation was found to be easier with pancuronium than with tubocurarine. There was a mean fall in blood pressure following the initial dose of tubocurarine but not after pancuronium. There was a greater rise in blood pressure following intubation with pancuronium than with tubocurarine.

A comparison of the antagonisms by neostigmine and diaminopyridine against the neuromuscular block caused by cobrotoxin and (+)-tubocurarine

open access: yes, 1986
Cobrotoxin was about 11-fold more potent than (+)-tubocurarine on a weight basis in blocking neuromuscular transmission in mouse isolated phrenic nerve-diaphragm preparations. Neostigmine and diaminopyridine increased the concentrations of cobrotoxin for

Ultrastructural visualization of the transmembranous and cytomatrix-related part of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor of frog motor endplate by means of an immunochemical avidity of IgG for d-tubocurarine.

open access: yesFolia Histochemica et Cytobiologica, 2008
In the present study, a fine ultrastructural localization of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) was attempted, using d-tubocurarine (d-TC), a quaternary ammonium compound binding to nAChR.

Consensus on the Management of Anesthetic Agents During Digestive Motility Measurements and Proposal of a Standardized Protocol for Anesthesia (French Neuro Gastroenterology Group GFNG and Committee of Anesthetic French Experts)

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, Volume 38, Issue 4, April 2026.
Anesthesia can alter measurements during digestive endoscopies, yet no standardized protocol currently exists. Two expert groups—the French Neuro‐Gastroenterology Group (GFNG) and anesthesiologists—used the Delphi method to reach a consensus on which drugs have an influence (91 amendments), ultimately resulting in a proposed anesthesia protocol (28 ...

Effects of neuromuscular blocking agents on central respiratory chemosensitivity in newborn rats

open access: yesBiological Research, 2005
Neuromuscular blocking agents suppress central respiratory activity through their inhibitory effects on preinspiratory neurons and the synaptic drive from preinspiratory neurons to inspiratory neurons.

Mass attenuation coefficient and its photon interaction derivables of some skeletal muscle relaxants

open access: yesJournal of Radiation and Cancer Research, 2016
Context: The study of photon interactions with biological materials is essential in radiation medicine and biology, nuclear technology and space research, since radioactive sources are used.

Tubocurarine binding in undercut cerebral cortex and the effect of long-term electrical stimulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
1. (1) An in vitro technique was used to study the binding capacity of the acetylcholinesterase (AChE)-rich synaptic membrane fraction of cat cerebral cortex for dimethyl-[14C]--tubocurarine.

4-Aminopyridine inhibits the neuromuscular effects of nitric oxide and 8-Br-cGMP

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2003
The effects induced by nitric oxide (NO) in different tissues depend on direct and/or indirect interactions with K+ channels. The indirect interaction of NO is produced by activation of guanylyl cyclase which increases the intracellular cGMP.
