Prognostic Significance of Tumor Budding in Urothelial Carcinomas of the Bladder: Comparison of Two Different Tumor Budding Evaluation Methods

open access: yesMedical Records, 2022
Aim: In our study, we aimed to reveal the effect of tumor budding(TB) on prognosis in urothelial carcinomas and to compare the most commonly used alternative method (AM) and the International Tumor Budding Consensus Conference (ITBCC) system. TB can be easily assessed on routine hematoxylin and eosin-stained slides.

Genetic Ablation and Multi‐Omics Profiling Reveal CEP55 as a Key Driver of Tumorigenesis in Diverse Cancer Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Genetic ablation of Cep55 in Pten‐deficient mouse models delays tumorigenesis. Integrated multi‐omics analyses (proteomics, phosphoproteomics, and spatial transcriptomics) reveal that CEP55 regulates oncogenic signaling (RAS/ERK, PI3K/AKT), integrin/FAK‐mediated adhesion, extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling, and endocytosis.

Phenotyping of tumor-associated macrophages in colorectal cancer: Impact on single cell invasion (tumor budding) and clinicopathological outcome. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Tumor-associated macrophages (TAM) play a controversial role in epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and prognosis of colorectal cancer (CRC). In particular, the microlocalization, polarization and prognostic impact of TAM in the immediate environment

Matrix Stiffness Enhances Odontogenic Differentiation of DPSCs through Membrane Curvature Protein Baiap2‐Modulated Exosome Release

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Matrix stiffness softening is identified as a previously underappreciated feature in deep caries. Higher stiffness drives exosome release in dental pulp stem cells through a coordinated mechanism involving PI3K–AKT‐regulated Baiap2 and kinesin‐1, thereby promoting odontogenic differentiation.

Assessment of cyclin D1 activity in tumors and tumor budding and its prognostic significance in tumor budding in colorectal carcinomas

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology
ABSTRACT Background: The most important prognostic parameter is staging in colorectal cancers, and tumor budding (TB) is among the independent prognostic parameters that are increasing in significance. Cyclin D1 expression has been associated with poor prognosis as a marker of various tumors.

Prognostic Value of Tumor Budding for Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2023
Background: Tumor budding (TB) is a dynamic process associated with the epithelial–mesenchymal transition and a well-established prognostic biomarker for colorectal cancer. As part of the tumor microenvironment, tumor buds demonstrate increased cell motility and invasiveness.

TED1 Promotes the Assembly of SCFD3‐D14‐D53 to Reinforce Strigolactone Signaling in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies TED1 as a positive regulator of strigolactones (SL) signaling in rice. The ted1 mutants display dwarfism and increased tillering with significantly reduced SLs sensitivity. Through its longer C‐terminal region, TED1 interacts with D53 and D14 to promote the assembly of SCFD3‐D14‐D53, thereby facilitating the efficient ...

Tumor budding outperforms ypT and ypN classification in predicting outcome of rectal cancer after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2019
Background Budding is a complementary prognostic factor for colorectal cancer. In this study, we aimed to clarify the role of tumor budding in rectal cancer patients after preoperative chemoradiotherapy. Methods A total of 124 patients with rectal cancer

TWIST1 and TWIST2 promoter methylation and protein expression in tumor stroma influence the epithelial-mesenchymal transition-like tumor budding phenotype in colorectal cancer. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Tumor budding in colorectal cancer is likened to an epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) characterized predominantly by loss of E-cadherin and up-regulation of E-cadherin repressors like TWIST1 and TWIST2.
