Bloodstream infections (BSI) are one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in both civilian and military populations. This paper summarizes recent progress in novel treatment strategies to manage BSI arising from both bacterial and fungal pathogens using molecules, particles, and materials to elicit host‐directed immunity.

Fighting vessel dysmorphia to improve glioma chemotherapy
High‐grade gliomas are aggressive and abundantly vascular tumors, and as in most cancer types, blood vessels in advanced lesions are highly abnormal.

Bio‐based and (semi‐)synthetic zwitterion‐modified novel materials and fully synthetic next‐generation alternatives show the importance of material design for different biomedical applications. The zwitterionic character affects the physiochemical behavior of the material and deepens the understanding of chemical interaction mechanisms within the ...

There is an ongoing debate on the therapeutic potential of vaso-modulatory interventions against glioma invasion. Prominent vasculature-targeting therapies involve functional tumour-associated blood vessel deterioration and normalisation. The former aims

Computational Modeling of Tumor Response to Vascular‐Targeting Therapies—Part I: Validation [PDF]
Mathematical modeling techniques have been widely employed to understand how cancer grows, and, more recently, such approaches have been used to understand how cancer can be controlled. In this manuscript, a previously validated hybrid cellular automaton model of tumor growth in a vascularized environment is used to study the antitumor activity of ...

Enhanced glioma-targeting and stability of LGICP peptide coupled with stabilized peptide DA7R
Malignant glioma is usually accompanied by vigorous angiogenesis to provide essential nutrients. An effective glioma targeting moiety should include excellent tumor-cell homing ability as well as good neovasculature-targeting efficiency, and should be ...

The paradox of cancer genes in non-malignant conditions: implications for precision medicine. [PDF]
Next-generation sequencing has enabled patient selection for targeted drugs, some of which have shown remarkable efficacy in cancers that have the cognate molecular signatures.
