Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Reduced electrostatic turbulence in the quasi-isodynamic stellarator configuration CIEMAT-QI4
CIEMAT-QI4 is a quasi-isodynamic stellarator configuration that simultaneously features very good fast-ion confinement in a broad range of β values, low neoclassical transport and bootstrap current, and ideal magnetohydrodynamic stability up to $\beta ...

Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Global gyrokinetic simulations of kinetic ballooning mode in NSTX-U plasmas
Understanding the kinetic ballooning mode (KBM) is crucial for optimizing plasma performance in high- β spherical tokamaks. Global gyrokinetic simulations of KBMs in a projected NSTX-U shot are presented using realistic magnetic geometry and plasma ...

BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Isotope mix effect on edge turbulent transport in pre-L–H transition conditions in JET-ILW
The heat flux at the edge of L-mode JET-ILW (Be wall and W divertor) pulses is studied using the gyrokinetic code Gyrokinetic Electromagnetic Numerical Experiment (GENE) in its flux-tube configuration as well as the quasi-linear turbulent transport model

Modelling of transport in homogeneous turbulence

14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.
