Mechanism Design and Gait Experiment of an Amphibian Robotic Turtle
Advanced Robotics, 2011In this paper we describe the design of a new bio-inspired amphibian robot with high environmental adaptability. The robot, called MiniTurtle-I, can transform terrestrial and aquatic locomotion configurations through a new variable topology mechanism (Leg-Flipper).

Parasitic robot system for waypoint navigation of turtle
Journal of Bionic Engineering, 2017In research on small mobile robots and biomimetic robots, locomotion ability remains a major issue despite many advances in technology. However, evolution has led to there being many real animals capable of excellent locomotion. This paper presents a “parasitic robot system” whereby locomotion abilities of an animal are applied to a robot task.

Turtle mimetic soft robot with two swimming gaits
Bioinspiration and Biomimetics, 2016This paper presents a biomimetic turtle flipper actuator consisting of a shape memory alloy composite structure for implementation in a turtle-inspired autonomous underwater vehicle. Based on the analysis of the Chelonia mydas, the flipper actuator was divided into three segments containing a scaffold structure fabricated using a 3D printer.

An Artificial Hormone System for Adaptable Locomotion in a Sea Turtle-Inspired Robot
2019 4th International Conference on Control and Robotics Engineering (ICCRE), 2019There are various challenges to operate autonomous robots for a long time in outdoor real-world environments. One of the most challenging tasks is to reduce the cost of transport when locomoting over hard ground or uneven complex terrain. This paper proposes using an artificial hormone system as a mechanism which responds to external environmental ...

Development of Weeding Turtle Robot for Paddy Fields
2021 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation (ICMA), 2021With the growing demand for organic food, weeding robots are being developed as a new method of agriculture that does not rely on scientific pesticides. Currently, “crawler-type” and “sphere-type” robots are being developed, but issues remain regarding their mobility in paddy fields and damage to rice plants.

Turtle-inspired localization on robot
2013 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2013In nature, some animals exhibit impressive navigation capability using ambient magnetic field. Particularly, certain kinds of sea turtles can associate geomagnetism to spatial representation for positioning in transoceanic migration across the seemingly clueless sea.

When the Robot Meets the Turtle
Proceedings of the 2017 ACM Conference on Innovation and Technology in Computer Science Education, 2017Educators have long been trying to motivate students in their introductory programming courses. Games help students to practice formulas, facts and processes, motivating learning by adding fun. This work describes our experience in the use of Lightbot and the graphic library Turtle to introduce students to the concepts of algorithm and function.

Design of Robot Plotter Software for Making Pattern with Turtle Graphics Algorithm
Journal of Wireless Mobile Networks, Ubiquitous Computing, and Dependable Applications, 2022Robot plotter can be more practical with a turtle graphics algorithm-designed interface application. Here is a literature review to develop a plotter robot control model. An experiment constructed software to transmit interface and robot plotter commands. Robot plotter uses selective compliance articulated arm (SCARA) on two x and y joints.
