Compartmental approach for modelling twin-screw granulation using population balances.

open access: yesInternational journal of pharmaceutics, 2019
In this study, a compartmental population balance model (CPBM) is developed as a predictive tool of particle size distribution (PSD) for wet granulation in co-rotating twin-screw granulator (TSG).

Mechanical Recycling of Biochar‐Filled Poly(lactic acid): A Study of Mechanical and Thermal Properties Supported by Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 5, May 2026.
Biochar‐filled poly(lactic) acid is mechanically recyclable with acceptable property retention after one reprocessing cycle, while five cycles significantly reduce strength and ductility. Thermal transition temperatures do not change, crystallinity increases, and cold crystallization temperature decreases.

A novel combination of machine learning models and metaheuristic algorithm to predict important parameters of twin screw wet granulation process

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
Twin screw granulation (TSG) has recently been emerged as a novel approach for the continuous wet granulation of fine particles (i.e., powders) in the pharmaceutical industry. The presence of brilliant advantages like the ability of operation at very low

New Materials for Additive Manufacturing: Thermal and Spectroscopic Analysis of pa 12–Clay Composites

open access: yesPolymers for Advanced Technologies, Volume 37, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigated the thermal and spectroscopic properties of composites produced from Polyamide 12 (PA 12) and montmorillonite (MMT) or sepiolite (SEP) clays, for application in additive manufacturing. These properties are critical during the printing process, as they directly affect the balance between the energy input to the parts and
