Regulation of Resistance in Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococci: The VanRS Two-Component System

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2021
Vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) are a serious threat to human health, with few treatment options being available. New therapeutics are urgently needed to relieve the health and economic burdens presented by VRE.

Two-component systems [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Biology, 2019
Originally known for their roles in a myriad of bacterial processes, the two-component signaling systems are now found far beyond the bacterial domain. Papon and Stock highlight the many interesting features of these widespread signaling systems.

Regulation of Helicobacter pylori Urease and Acetone Carboxylase Genes by Nitric Oxide and the CrdRS Two-Component System

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2023
Helicobacter pylori colonizes the human gastric mucosa and causes various gastroduodenal diseases, including peptic ulceration and gastric cancer. Colonization requires the actions of two-component systems (TCSs) to sense and respond to changes in the ...

Periodic Inspection Optimization for a Two-Component System with Dependent Failures [PDF]

open access: yesچشم‌انداز مدیریت صنعتی, 2020
In this research, a novel model is presented to optimize the periodic inspection for a complicated two-component system with dependent failures. In this model, the failures of the first and the second component are soft and hard, respectively.

Mutational analysis of dimeric linkers in peri- and cytoplasmic domains of histidine kinase DctB reveals their functional roles in signal transduction [PDF]

open access: yesOpen Biology, 2014
Membrane-associated histidine kinases (HKs) in two-component systems respond to environmental stimuli by autophosphorylation and phospho-transfer. HK typically contains a periplasmic sensor domain that regulates the cytoplasmic kinase domain through a ...

Crystallization in Two-Component Coulomb Systems [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2005
The analysis of Coulomb crystallization is extended from one-component to two-component plasmas. Critical parameters for the existence of Coulomb crystals are derived for both classical and quantum crystals. In the latter case, a critical mass ratio of the two charged components is found which is of the order of 80.

Research progress on the dentin adhesion of Enterococcus faecalis and its influencing factors [PDF]

open access: yes口腔疾病防治
Enterococcus faecalis is the main pathogen causing refractory apical periodontitis (RAP). This bacterium can tolerate harsh environments and trigger periapical immune inflammatory responses that result in persistent infection inside and outside the root ...

Reliability analysis for two-unit system composing of an intermittent operation unit

open access: yesTạp chí Khoa học và Công nghệ, 2023
In this paper, a close-form reliability analysis for two-unit system consisting of an intermittent operation (IO) component and a continuous operation (CO) component is developed.

Interaction Analysis of a Two-Component System Using Nanodiscs. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Two-component systems are the major means by which bacteria couple adaptation to environmental changes. All utilize a phosphorylation cascade from a histidine kinase to a response regulator, and some also employ an accessory protein.
