In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Two-component signaling system is present throughout different kingdoms of life forms with high abundance among prokaryotes. The two-component system responds to a variety of environmental stimuli and is also important mode of communication among pathogens for the elaboration of virulent factors.

The rotating rodent: A two component system?
European Journal of Pharmacology, 1978The hypothesis that the rotating rat requires both nigro-striatal and mesolimbic dopaminergic components for activity has been tested. 6-Hydroxydopamine lesions were induced unilaterally in either or both the ascending nigrostriatal and mesolimbic dopamine pathway. In one group of rats the nucleus accumbens was destroyed bilaterally with electrolesions.

Abstract In this chapter, we will discuss the signal transduction systems known as the two-component systems. This review covers the literature in this area through July 1995. Signal transduction by these systems requires at least one each of two different types of conserved protein domains, known as the histidine protein kinase domain ...
