Two-Component Systems

2021
Two-component signaling system is present throughout different kingdoms of life forms with high abundance among prokaryotes. The two-component system responds to a variety of environmental stimuli and is also important mode of communication among pathogens for the elaboration of virulent factors.

The rotating rodent: A two component system?

European Journal of Pharmacology, 1978
The hypothesis that the rotating rat requires both nigro-striatal and mesolimbic dopaminergic components for activity has been tested. 6-Hydroxydopamine lesions were induced unilaterally in either or both the ascending nigrostriatal and mesolimbic dopamine pathway. In one group of rats the nucleus accumbens was destroyed bilaterally with electrolesions.

Two-component systems

1999
Abstract In this chapter, we will discuss the signal transduction systems known as the two-component systems. This review covers the literature in this area through July 1995. Signal transduction by these systems requires at least one each of two different types of conserved protein domains, known as the histidine protein kinase domain ...

Study of two‐component system with failure interaction

Naval Research Logistics Quarterly, 1985
In many real-life multicomponent systems, the failure of a component has some effect on one or more of the remaining components. We consider a two-component system with a specific type failure interaction and obtain expressions for the expected cost of operating the system for both finite and infinite time.

Conductivity of two-component systems

Geophysics, 1996
Abstract We present measurements and computer simulation results on the electrical conductivity of nonconducting grains embedded in a conductive brine host. The shapes of the grains ranged from prolate-ellipsoidal (with an axis ratio of 5:1) through spherical to oblate-ellipsoidal (with an axis ratio of 1:5).

Two-Component Systems

2014
Among the many regulatory schemes governing virulence potential, two-component systems have been found time and time again to play key roles. The structure-function relationships of the various domains, kinase, receiver, and HPt domains, of two-component systems are examined in this chapter, following the path of information from outside to inside a ...

Two-Component Regulatory Systems

2014
Originally characterized for nitrogen regulation (NtrB-NtrC), chemotaxis (CheA-CheY-CheB), osmoregulation (EnvZ-OmpR), and regulation of phosphate uptake (PhoR-PhoB) in Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium, the family of two-component systems has rapidly expanded, and new examples continue to emerge.
