Significance of nuclear phospholipase C signaling through type 1 IGF receptor.
Journal of endocrinological investigation, 2004The existence of a nuclear polyphosphoinositol metabolism independent from that at the plasma membrane is now widely recognized. Specific changes in the nuclear phosphatidylinositol (Ptdlns) metabolism have been implicated in cell growth, differentiation, and neoplastic transformation.

SummaryA phospholipase C which cleaves phosphatidylinositol and glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchors was identified in Listeria monocytogenes. This 36kDa protein is encoded by the gene plcA, and is homologous to the Bacillus cereus, Bacillus thuringiensis and eukaryotic phosphatidylinositol‐specific phospholipases C (PI‐PLC).

We have cloned and characterized a genomic DNA spanning the 5'-flanking region, the first and second exons, and the first intron of the human PLC-gamma2 gene. The proximal upstream region is highly GC-rich and lacks a TATA box, whereas the distal region contains several AT-rich tracts.

Phospholipase C from Clostridium novyi type A. II. Factors influencing the enzyme activity.
Journal of biochemistry, 1978The apparent activity of phospholipase C[EC 3.1.4.3] of Clostridium novyi type A toward phosphatidylcholine, sphingomyelin, and phosphatidylethanolamine increased in the presence of sodium deoxycholate (SDC). The effects of divalent cations on phospholipase C activity were examined in detail at various concentrations of these cations.

As shown in a large clinical prospective trial, inhibition of the renin‐angiotensin system (RAS) can delay the onset of type 2 diabetes in high‐risk individuals. We evaluated the beneficial effects of RAS inhibition on β‐cell function under glucotoxic conditions.

The angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT(1)R) plays an important role in cardiovascular function and as such represents a primary target for therapeutic intervention. The AT(1)R has traditionally been considered to be coupled to the activation of phospholipase C (PLC) beta via its association with G alpha(q/11), leading to increases in intracellular ...

AbstractNiemann–Pick disease type C (NPC) is a neurodegenerative lipid storage disorder caused by mutations in NPC1 or NPC2 genes. Loss of function of either protein results in the endosomal accumulation of cholesterol and other lipids. Here, we report that NPC1‐deficient Chinese hamster ovary cells exhibit increased release of arachidonic acid (AA ...

Phospholipase C δ-type consists of three isozymes: bovine PLCδ2 is a homologue of human/mouse PLCδ4
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2004Abstract To date, 12 phospholipase C (PLC) isozymes have been identified in mammals, and they are divided into five classes, β-, γ-, δ-, e-, and ζ-type. PLCδ-type is reported to be composed of four isozymes, PLCδ1–δ4. Here we report that a screening for mouse PLCδ2 from a BAC library with primers that amplify a specific region of bovine PLCδ2 ...
