Direct Analysis of Spectra of Type Ib Supernovae [PDF]
Synthetic spectra generated with the parameterized supernova synthetic-spectrum code SYNOW are compared to photospheric-phase spectra of Type Ib supernovae (SNe Ib). Although the synthetic spectra are based on many simplifying approximations, including spherical symmetry, they account well for the observed spectra.

PTF 12gzk—A RAPIDLY DECLINING, HIGH-VELOCITY TYPE Ic RADIO SUPERNOVA [PDF]
Only a few cases of type Ic supernovae (SNe) with high-velocity ejecta have been discovered and studied. Here we present our analysis of radio and X-ray observations of a Type Ic SN, PTF12gzk.
