AtSNU13 modulates pre-mRNA splicing of RBOHD and ALD1 to regulate plant immunity

open access: yesBMC Biology
Pre-mRNA splicing is a significant step for post-transcriptional modifications and functions in a wide range of physiological processes in plants. Human NHP2L binds to U4 snRNA during spliceosome assembly; it is involved in RNA splicing and mediates the ...

Transcriptomic analysis of tobacco flowering regulated by the BdFKF1 gene in Brachypodium distachyon

open access: yesGuangxi Zhiwu
FKF1 is known to be a blue light-responsive gene and an important factor in regulating plant flowering through the photoperiod pathway. To explore the molecular mechanism of BdFKF1 gene in regulating flowering in tobacco plants through the photoperiod ...

The special Sm core structure of the U7 snRNP: far-reaching significance of a small nuclear ribonucleoprotein [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
.: The polypeptide composition of the U7 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) involved in histone messenger RNA (mRNA) 3′ end formation has recently been elucidated.

Nuclear RNA Surveillance in \u3cem\u3eSaccharomyces cerevisiae\u3c/em\u3e: Trf4p-dependent Polyadenylation of Nascent Hypomethylated tRNA and an Aberrant Form of 5S rRNA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
1-Methyladenosine modification at position 58 of tRNA is catalyzed by a two-subunit methyltransferase composed of Trm6p and Trm61p in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Investigation into the Saccharomyces cerevisiae U5 snRNP, a core spliceosome component

open access: yes, 2010
The U5 snRNP is a major component of the yeast spliceosome, being part of the U4/U6.U5 tri-snRNP, the precatalytic spliceosome and the catalytically activated spliceosome. The U5 snRNP includes, at its heart, the U5 snRNA which contains the invariant Loop 1 that functions in tethering and aligning exons during splicing.

The yeast U5 snRNP coisolated with the U1 snRNP has an unexpected protein composition and includes the splicing factor Aar2p.

open access: yesRNA (New York, N.Y.), 2001
We describe the purification and characterization of a 16S U5 snRNP from the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and the identification of its proteins. In contrast to the human 20S U5 snRNP, it has a comparatively simple protein composition. In addition to the Sm core proteins, it contains only two of the U5 snRNP specific proteins, Prp8p and Snu114p ...

Roles for U5 snRNP-associated proteins in splicing regulation

open access: yes, 2013
The spliceosomal U5 snRNP contains several proteins with well characterised functions in splicing, including: Brr2, an ATPase/RNA helicase that disrupts U4/U6 and U2/U6 snRNA base pairing during activation of the spliceosome; Snu114, a GTPase that controls the action of Brr2; and Prp8, the largest and most conserved protein considered to have a central
