Substrate binding and catalytic mechanism of the Se-glycosyltransferase SenB in the biosynthesis of selenoneine

open access: yesNature Communications
Selenium is an essential multifunctional trace element in diverse organisms. The only Se-glycosyltransferase identified that catalyzes the incorporation of selenium in selenoneine biosynthesis is SenB from Variovorax paradoxus.

Cloning and functional characterization of three key glycosylation genes involved in dioscin biosynthesis

open access: yesIndustrial Crops and Products
The sterol glycosyltransferase gene functions as the final key structural gene in dioscin biosynthetic pathway, catalyzing the glycosylation of 3-OH position of diosgenin to produce dioscin.
