Note on ultraviolet renormalization and ground state energy of the Nelson model [PDF]
Ultraviolet (UV) renormalization of the Nelson model in quantum field theory is considered. A relationship between a ultraviolet renormalization term and the ground state energy of the Hamiltonian with total momentum zero is studied by functional integrations.

Boundaries of photosynthesis: adaptations of carbon fixation in extreme environments
Photosynthesis faces challenges from environmental extremes of temperature, pH, and salinity, limiting gas diffusion, modifying membrane fluidity, and destabilizing photochemical and biochemical reactions. Photosynthetic organisms have evolved unique adaptations overcoming these stresses and maintaining their photosynthetic activity.

Improved thermal paint formulation [PDF]
Potassium silicate-treated zinc oxide paint stabilizes pigment against ultraviolet-induced, bleachable degradation in infrared region, and permits use of ZnO as pigment in ultraviolet-stable coatings based upon polymethyl siloxane elastomers and resins ...

The inactivation of SLC35C1 (GDP‐fucose transporter) and enzymes involved in GDP‐fucose biosynthesis was studied. Fucose supplementation increases the level of GDP‐fucose to abnormal, millimolar values in the absence of the TSTA3 protein and SLC35C1 in contrast to the GMDS/SLC35C1 double mutant.

Ultraviolet and extreme-ultraviolet line ratio diagnostics for O IV [PDF]
Aims: We generate theoretical ultraviolet and extreme-ultraviolet emission line ratios for O IV and show their strong versatility as electron temperature and density diagnostics for astrophysical plasmas. Methods: Recent fully relativistic calculations of radiative rates and electron impact excitation cross sections for O IV, supplemented with earlier ...

Cleavable N‐terminal Thioredoxin fusion enabled soluble expression and purification of otherwise insoluble SARS‐CoV‐2 Nucleocapsid (N) protein. A four‐step purification strategy yielded highly homogeneous, RNA‐free N protein. Binding assays showed high RNA affinity (Kd ~ 28 nm). The study will facilitate high‐resolution structural studies of N protein,

From IRAS to IRS: Evolution of the Most Luminous Galaxies in the Universe [PDF]
We summarize observations with the Spitzer Infrared Spectrograph (IRS) of 571 starbursts (strong PAH emission features), 128 obscured AGN (strong silicate absorption), and 39 unobscured AGN (silicate emission). Sources range in luminosity from 10^{8} to 10^{14} solar luminosities and continuously in redshift for 0 < z < 3.
