Transformed Unscented Kalman Filter

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2013
This technical note concerns the deterministic sampling points construction strategy for unscented Kalman filter (UKF) and cubature Kalman filter (CKF). From the numerical-integration viewpoint, a new deterministic sampling points set is derived by orthogonal transformation on the cubature points.

A skewed unscented Kalman filter

International Journal of Control, 2016
ABSTRACTState estimation of nonlinear systems is a challenging task, especially when the Gaussian approximation fails. The unscented Kalman filter was proposed to deal with state estimation of nonlinear systems. We modify the traditional unscented Kalman filter to capture the third-order moment (skewness) of the state vector.

Comparison of Unscented Kalman Filters

2007 International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation, 2007
Unscented Kalman filter (UKF) has been proven to be a superior alternative to the extended Kalman filter (EKF) when solving the nonlinear system in previous literatures. In order to accelerate the application of UKF in the actual system, a new simplified UKF is proposed in this paper.

Unscented and square‐root unscented Kalman filters for quaternionic systems

International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2018
SummaryProper construction of an unscented Kalman filter (UKF) for unit quaternionic systems is not straightforward due to the incompatibility between the algebraic properties of the unit quaternions and the common real vector space operations (additions and scalar multiplications) needed in the steps of a filter algorithm. This work studies, in detail,

Unscented Kalman Filter and Particle Filter for Chaotic Synchronization

APCCAS 2006 - 2006 IEEE Asia Pacific Conference on Circuits and Systems, 2006
The first and foremost step in developing a chaotic communication system is to establish synchronization of the chaotic systems/maps at the transmitter and receiver. Extended Kalman filter (EKF) is a widely studied nonlinear observer for chaotic synchronization.

Unscented Kalman Filter for frequency and amplitude estimation

2011 IEEE Trondheim PowerTech, 2011
This paper introduces a new digital signal processing algorithm for frequency and amplitude estimation based on Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF). The results of computer simulated and realistic synthetic data tests are presented. The initial parameters used during the tests were chosen carefully using an established parameter estimation method, the Self ...

Performance evaluation of the Extended Kalman Filter and Unscented Kalman Filter

2015 International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ICUAS), 2015
The Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) and Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) are methods usually applied in the sensor fusion for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles due to its nonlinear navigation equations. This paper presents a comparison between the two filters considering the position, velocity and attitude of the vehicle and the IMU bias.
