Effects of 4R nitrogen management on corn silage production

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 118, Issue 6, November/December 2026.
Abstract Nitrogen (N) is one of the critical and costliest inputs for corn silage (Zea mays) production. Excessive N applications decrease profits for growers via increased cost of production and raise environmental concerns. The four core principles of the 4R nutrient stewardship framework—right source (S), right rate (R), right time (T), and right ...

Preparation, Spectroscopic Elucidation, Antioxidant Potential, Enzyme Inhibition, and Molecular Docking Studies of Novel Schiff Base‐Derived Thiosemicarbazones

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 11, November 2026.
The synthesis of new thiosemicarbazones bearing Schiff base was performed. The structures of the compounds were characterized through several spectroscopic methods. The antioxidant potential of these compounds was evaluated through DPPH• in vitro assays. In addition, their inhibitory activities against urease and xanthine oxidase (XO) were investigated.

Marked Hypergastrinemia and Extreme Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate Elevation in Autoimmune Atrophic Gastritis with Severe Iron Deficiency Anemia: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Autoimmune atrophic gastritis causes loss of oxyntic glands, reduced acid secretion, compensatory hypergastrinemia, and impaired iron and vitamin B12 absorption. A 46‐year‐old woman with minimal gastrointestinal symptoms had fasting serum gastrin > 1800 ng/L, an erythrocyte sedimentation rate of 109 mm/h, hemoglobin 8.2 g/dL, and microcytosis.

Urease and nitrification inhibitors for climate and environmental protection: opportunity or risk?

open access: yes
Urease and nitrification inhibitors are used in agriculture to reduce ammonia and nitrous oxide emissions and the leaching of nitrate. However, the risks of inhibitors for human health and the environment have not yet been sufficiently investigated. Also,

Reusing water, reshaping nitrogen: Unravelling nitrogen dynamics in soils receiving treated wastewater

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, Volume 55, Issue 6, November/December 2026.
Abstract Soils are increasingly receiving treated wastewater (TWW) to support crop production and protect natural resources. However, besides water, various inputs, such as soil nutrients (salts), organic carbon, and various contaminants of emerging concern, including antibiotics, antibiotic resistance genes, pharmaceutical compounds, heavy metals, and

Novel Carbazole–Acylthiourea Derivatives: Synthesis, Antimicrobial, Antioxidant, Hemocompatibility, Cytotoxicity, and ADME‐Tox Profiling

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2026.
We synthesized four novel carprofen‐derived carbazole–acylthiourea propanamides with selective antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, and Candida albicans. Compound 1a provides combined antioxidant and antihemolytic protection.
