Abstract The reactivity of eight synthetic analogues of uridine diphosphate glucose with a modified uracyl nucleus in four enzymic systems of uridine diphosphate glucose metabolism has been investigated. For the activity of all of the enzymes studied, the presence of an acylamido grouping −C2(X)N3HC4(X)− (where X = O or S ), appeared necessary.

Formation of uridine diphosphate sugars from 32p-labeled hexose phosphates in human red blood cells
Clinica Chimica Acta, 1969Abstract The formation of uridine diphosphate galactose (UDPGal) and uridine diphosphate glucose (UDPG) in red blood cells was studied with the aid of 32 P-labeled galactose-1-phosphate and glucose-1-phosphate. UTP: α- d -glucose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase (EC 2.7.7.9) was separated from UDPG: α- d -galactose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase ...

Abstract 1. 1. The isolation of UDP-glucose, UDP-glucuronic acid, and UDP- N -acetylglucosamine by chromatography on paper is described and the rates of their synthesis in some tissues of the rat, guinea-pig, chicken, and frog were determined after [ i - 14 C] glucose administration. 2. 2. About a fivefold higher rate of UDP-glucose synthesis

[Uridine diphosphate sugar in meningiomas of the brain].
Zhurnal voprosy neirokhirurgii imeni N. N. Burdenko, 1997The content of uridine-diphosphate (UDP)-saccharides, such as UDP-glucose (UDPG) and UDP-N-acetylglucosamine (UDPAG) was examined in the meningiomas obtained at surgery. Typical, atypical, and anaplastic meningiomas were used. Biochemical data were compared with histological findings. The total level of UDP-saccharides (UDPG + UDPAG) in the meningiomas

The biosynthesis of uridine diphosphate glucose and sucrose in sugar beet leaf
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1956Abstract 1. 1. The mechanisms for biosynthesis of UDPG and sucrose in sugarbeet leaf and leaf homogenate have been investigated by providing radioactive G-1-P with various cofactors and identifying the radioactive products after short time intervals.

Characterization of uridine diphosphate-sugar pyrophosphorylase from Populus deltoids
Journal of the Korean Society for Applied Biological Chemistry, 2013Nucleotide sugars serve as sugar donors for the biosynthesis of various cell components including cell wall, glycoproteins, and small molecules. Among them, uridine diphosphate (UDP)-glucose is one of main nucleotide sugars that serve as a substrate for the synthesis of other UDP-sugars.
