Total control of user experience in software development - a software engineering dream?

open access: yes, 2022
S.94-99In this paper we present a preliminary version of a software engineering approach to gain control over the User Experience (UX) during development time.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Demarcating User eXperience [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This panel discusses the scoping of user experience as a research field. User experience is a crossing point of several disciplines, each of which tends to define user experience from their own perspective. The distinguished panelists from academia and industry represent the different perspectives to user experience: Traditional human-computer ...

From experiencing sites of past to the future of the Demolition Man and how graffiti fits to all

open access: yes, 2019
This paper explores the possibilities graffiti can provide to research user experience, focusing in those that might emerge in urban environments. The concept of User Experience (UX) can be seen as a consciously experienced phenomenon entailing for ...

QoS-based experience-aware adaptation in multimedia e-learning - A learner, is a learner, is a user, is a customer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
One of the challenges for the future of technology-enhanced learning is the retention of learners. On-line learning environments should engage learners and provide an appropriate “Quality of Experience” (QoE).

Towards a conceptual framework for the objective evaluation of user experience

open access: yes, 2022
S.546-559Background: The concept of user experience (UX) involves many aspects and different perspectives, making it difficult to evaluate the whole set of what UX represents. Despite existing standards, a clear definition of the UX evaluation concerning

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Can we distinguish pragmatic from hedonic user experience qualities with implicit measures?

open access: yes, 2022
S.509-527User Experience research mainly makes use of self-reported measures to assess the user's experience when using a technical product, especially regarding hedonic product qualities.
