ZNF33B Promotes Japanese Encephalitis Virus Infection by Regulating the Stability of M6A‐Modified Trim25 to Control the Autophagy Process

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Upon JEV infection, ZNF33B recruits METTL14 to stabilize the METTL3‐METTL14 m6A methyltransferase complex, leading to increased m6A modification of host transcripts, including Trim25 mRNA. ZNF33B selectively binds m6A‐modified sites on Trim25 mRNA and accelerates its decay, resulting in reduced TRIM25 protein abundance.

Antigen Spreading via Localized Administration Enhances Adoptive TCR‐T Cell Therapy in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cancer vaccines face limitations in pancreatic cancer due to insufficient tumor antigens. This ionic liquid ILvax via local tumor delivery triggers robust cDC1‐dependent systemic anti‐tumor immunity. It boosts endogenous CD8+ T cells and optimizes adoptive TCR‐T function, providing a promising synergistic therapeutic strategy.

Cholesterol Laundry of Cell Membrane and Fatty Liver by Detergent Liposomes to Improve Anti‐Cancer Drug Responsiveness of Patient Liver Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cholesterol‐enriched plasma membranes in hepatocellular carcinoma impede drug penetration. Cholesterol (+)‐liposomes act as membrane‐specific detergents, extracting cholesterol and reducing barrier function without cytotoxicity. Following endocytosis, cholesterol transfers from endosomes to liposomes and is metabolized in the ER.

Nanomaterials for Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment: Advances, Opportunities and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials offer dual applications in allergy management. For diagnosis, nanomaterials enhance analytical sensitivity and improve detection in specific IgE and functional assays such as the basophil activation test (BAT). For allergen‐specific immunotherapy, nanomaterials enable allergen masking and controlled release, and effectively modulate the ...

Risk Factors for Small‐for‐Size Syndrome Grade B/C After Simultaneous Splenectomy in Adult Living‐Donor Liver Transplantation

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
In a single‐center cohort of 577 adult LDLT recipients who underwent simultaneous splenectomy, clinically significant SFSS grade B/C (ILTS‐iLDLT‐LTSI 2023) occurred in 18.2% and was associated with inferior graft survival. Multivariate analysis identified MELD ≥ 30, NLR ≥ 4.5, and donor age ≥ 50 years as independent risk factors, which risk rising ...

Biomarkers of safety and immune protection for genetically modified live attenuated Leishmania vaccines against visceral leishmaniasis-Discovery and implications

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2014
Despite intense efforts there is no safe and efficacious vaccine against visceral leishmaniasis, which is fatal and endemic in many tropical countries. A major shortcoming in the vaccine development against blood borne parasitic agents such as Leishmania

Developing Next-Generation Live Attenuated Vaccines for Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Using Reverse Genetic Techniques

open access: yes
Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) is the etiology of porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED), a highly contagious digestive disease in pigs and especially in neonatal piglets, in which a mortality rate of up to 100% will be induced. Immunizing pregnant sows

Lost and Found: Is Olfactory Recovery More Promising After COVID‐19 Than Other Causes, Even 2 Years Later?

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Olfactory dysfunction is a hallmark feature of COVID‐19, yet the potential for recovery with long‐standing COVID‐19‐related smell loss (CRSL) remains uncertain, particularly when treatment is initiated years later. This study evaluated olfactory outcomes in patients with CRSL compared with non‐COVID‐19‐related smell loss (non‐CRSL),

Progress and challenges towards the development of malaria vaccines.

open access: yes, 2007
The promise afforded by attenuated sporozoite vaccines in the 1970s led many researchers to believe that an efficacious malaria vaccine was an attainable medium-term goal.
