The use of copper anode slime (CAS) for the removal of lead, bismuth, and arsenic is the key to recovering precious metals. In this paper, vacuum differential gravimetry experiments combined with thermodynamic equilibrium calculations reveal the effects ...

Improved Contacts to MoS2 Transistors by Ultra-High Vacuum Metal Deposition. [PDF]
The scaling of transistors to sub-10 nm dimensions is strongly limited by their contact resistance (RC). Here we present a systematic study of scaling MoS2 devices and contacts with varying electrode metals and controlled deposition conditions, over a ...

Vacuum-Ultraviolet Photon Detections
Vacuum-ultraviolet (VUV) photon detection technology is an effective means for the exploration in the field of space science (monitoring the formation and evolution of solar storms), high-energy physics (dark matter detection), large-scale scientific ...

Contributions of the center vortices and vacuum domain in potentials between static sources [PDF]
In this paper, we study the role of the domain structure of the Yang Mills vacuum. The Casimir scaling and $N$-ality are investigated in the potentials between static sources in various representations for $SU(2)$ and $SU(3)$ gauge groups based on the ...

The properties of the vacuum are addressed in the two- and four-dimensional quark models for QCD. It is demonstrated that the two-dimensional QCD ('t Hooft model) possesses only one possible vacuum state - the solution to the mass-gap equation, which ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
