A Photothermal‐Responsive PRP‐Loaded Hydrogel Engineered With Composite Nanobottle for Controllable Delivery of Growth Factors and Multifunctional Therapy of Diabetic Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
A photothermal‐responsive engineered platelet‐rich plasma hydrogel (CNB‐ePRP) incorporated with thrombin‐functionalized composite nanobottle was developed, which enables in situ PRP activation, on‐demand growth factor release, multifunctionality, and personalized antimicrobial loading for treatment of diabetic wounds. The CNB‐ePRP hydrogel demonstrated

Glucuronolactone Promotes Mucin Sulfation to Alleviate Deoxynivalenol‐Induced Intestinal Injury via Microbiota‐Dependent and ‐Independent AHR Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Glucuronolactone (GLU) as a natural metabolite of glucose, increases Lactobacillus amylovorus abundance and luminal IAA level to activate AHR signaling. In addition, GLU itself can directly elevate AHR signaling activity independently of microbiota and IAA.

Candida glabrata Isolated From Tubo‐Ovarian Abscess Cultures in Two Immunocompetent Patients

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
Persistent 7.3 × 5.8 cm TOA unresponsive to 4 weeks of antibiotic treatment and percutaneous drainage, growing Candida glabrata on cultures. ABSTRACT In this clinical case report, we present two immunocompetent patients with tubo‐ovarian abscesses (TOAs) that were positive for Candida glabrata.

Sleep Deprivation Exacerbates Ischemic Stroke Outcomes via Akkermansia Depletion and Metabolic Dysregulation

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 5, May 2026.
Under ABX‐induced gut dysbiosis, sleep deprivation reduces beneficial taxa and enriches pro‐inflammatory bacteria, leading to increased intestinal permeability and amplified peripheral inflammation, thereby exacerbating BBB disruption and neuroinflammation and worsening ischemic brain injury.
