Drai and Grodzinsky provide a valuable analysis that offers a way of disentangling the effects of Movement and Mood in agrammatic comprehension. However, their mathematical implementation (Beta model) hides theoretically relevant information, i.e., qualitative heterogeneities of performance within the patient sample.

Journal of Motor Behavior, 2010
In human motor control, there is uncertainty in both estimation of initial sensory state and prediction of the outcome of motor commands. With practice, increasing precision can often be achieved, but such precision incurs costs in time, effort, and neural resources.

We distinguish between variables having only one solution (possibilistic) and those allowing multiple solutions (veristic). A representation of information contained in statements involving veristic variables is presented. Using this representation we begin to develop a structure for the manipulation of knowledge involving variables that can have ...

Variable Stars (Étoiles Variables)
1971During the Brighton General Assembly, the Commission conducted one administrative session, one general scientific meeting, and two specialized sessions devoted to the spectra of variable stars and to the absolute magnitudes of the RR Lyrae stars.

Variables, Random Variables, and Variable Characteristics, Sampling
2018A variable is a name or symbol for the identification of any unique population characteristic that is subjected to statistical analysis. A random variable has its value determined by a random chance event, the conduct of a statistical experiment, such as sampling. A variable and random variable are not the same thing.

Abstract Children's thinking is highly variable at every level of analysis, from neural and associative levels to the level of strategies, theories, and other aspects of high‐level cognition. This variability exists within people as well as between them; individual children often rely on different strategies or representations on closely related ...

We hypothesized that temporal lability in ventricular repolarization is a marker for, and is mechanistically related to, increased risk of malignant ventricular arrhythmias. To assess repolarization lability in the surface electrocardiogram, we developed an automated algorithm, based on template matching, to measure beat-to-beat changes in QT interval.

The author introduces a nonstandard semantics for a conservative extension of the infinitary temporal programming logic of \textit{F. Kröger} [Acta Inf. 8, 243-266 (1977; Zbl 0347.68016)] and proves that the logic is sound and complete in the given semantics.

In computer graphics and geometric modeling, changing the variables is a useful technique that appears in many guises. It lets us change how we traverse curves or surfaces, modify their derivatives or place, and interpret textures or other properties associated with them. It is shown that while changing variables of a parametric curve or surface leaves

The history of US landpower since September 11, 2001, has been a history of change as policy-makers sought to impose alterations on landpower, only to be forced to adapt to new conditions. The spirit of post-heroic warfare, stemming from the 1990s, influenced American understanding of landpower during the initial invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq ...
