Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Comparison between variational iteration method and Gegenbauer–Galerkin method for solving two dimensional nonlinear Volterra integral equations of the second kind [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances
This paper intends to introduce two numerical techniques—the variational iteration method and the Gegenbauer–Galerkin method—for obtaining solutions to two dimensional nonlinear Volterra integral equations of the second kind.

Modified Viscosity Subgradient Extragradient-Like Algorithms for Solving Monotone Variational Inequalities Problems

open access: yesAxioms, 2020
Variational inequality theory is an effective tool for engineering, economics, transport and mathematical optimization. Some of the approaches used to resolve variational inequalities usually involve iterative techniques.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Variational Integrators for Nonvariational Partial Differential Equations

open access: yes, 2015
Variational integrators for Lagrangian dynamical systems provide a systematic way to derive geometric numerical methods. These methods preserve a discrete multisymplectic form as well as momenta associated to symmetries of the Lagrangian via Noether's ...

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Variational iteration method with matrix Lagrange multiplier for nonlinear oscillators

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2019
The variational iteration method is a famous mathematical tool to nonlinear oscillator, this paper shows that the method can be further improved by using matrix Lagrange multipliers.

A Stein variational Newton method

open access: yes, 2018
Stein variational gradient descent (SVGD) was recently proposed as a general purpose nonparametric variational inference algorithm [Liu & Wang, NIPS 2016]: it minimizes the Kullback-Leibler divergence between the target distribution and its approximation

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Matrix product state on a quantum computer

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
Solving quantum many-body systems is one of the most significant regimes where quantum computing applies. Currently, as a hardware-friendly computational paradigms, variational algorithms are often used for finding the ground energy of quantum many-body ...
