Twenty varieties were included in the 2006 winter wheat variety test at Crawfordsville. Each variety was sown in three different plots to average out the effects of soil variability. The varieties were planted September 27, 2005 at a rate of 1½ bushels/acre. The wheat plots were harvested on July 10.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

The prospects of winter rye breeding on productivity and grain quality in the steppe Zavolzhie
Winter soft wheat is a promising crop for growing in the Middle Urals. At present its cultivation is constantly increasing in the agricultural farms of the Sverdlov region. The amount of sowing areas ranges from 1.5 to 3 thousand hectares.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Twelve varieties were included in the 2005 winter triticale variety test at Sutherland. Each variety was sown in three different plots to average the effects of soil variability. The varieties were planted October 5, 2004, at a rate of 1 1/2 bushels/acre. All winter triticale plots were harvested on July 11.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an
