This study highlights how cervical carcinoma progression is shaped by immune–tumor interactions within the TME. M2‐TAM infiltration, regulated through STAT3/NF‐κB and linked to CXCL12–CXCR4, promotes immune suppression, angiogenesis, and poor survival.

Prognostic value of vascular endothelial growth factor tumor tissue content of colorectal cancer [PDF]
A longitudinal study was designed to quantify tumor tissue content of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) and to evaluate its prognostic value in respect to the relapse-free and overall ...

Optical Aptasensors for the Analysis of the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)
The vascular endothelial growth factor, VEGF, is an important biomarker for different diseases and clinical disorders. We present a series of optical aptasensor-based sensing platforms for VEGF that include the following: (i) A FRET-based sensor that involves the VEGF-induced separation of aptamer-functionalized quantum dots blocked by a quencher ...

A biofabricated 3D in vitro model recapitulating endochondral ossification (ECO) is described, mimicking the steps from condensation to chondrogenesis and hypertrophy, culminating with vascularization of the hypertrophic construct. As a model proof of concept application, Ewing Sarcoma cells are seeded in the model, showing modifications in their ...

Reassessing vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in anti-angiogenic cancer therapy
Vascularization is fundamental to the growth and spread of tumor cells to distant sites. As a consequence, angiogenesis, the sprouting of new blood vessels from existing ones, is a characteristic trait of cancer.

Neuropilin-1 Controls Endothelial Homeostasis by Regulating Mitochondrial Function and Iron-Dependent Oxidative Stress. [PDF]
The transmembrane protein neuropilin-1 (NRP1) promotes vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and extracellular matrix signaling in endothelial cells (ECs).

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), Mast Cells and Inflammation
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is one of the most important inducers of angiogenesis, therefore blocking angiogenesis has led to great promise in the treatment of various cancers and inflammatory diseases. VEGF, expressed in response to soluble mediators such as cytokines and growth factors, is important in the physiological development of ...

Inhibitory mechanism of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) by bucillamine [PDF]
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) plays an important role in the neovascularization of ischaemic retinal diseases such as proliferative diabetic retinopathy. We determined that bucillamine, an anti‐rheumatic drug, inhibits the VEGF production induced by hypoxia in bovine retinal microcapillary endothelial cells (BREC).

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...
