Elevated quinolizidine alkaloid content in grains of sweet narrow‐leaved lupins when intercropped with oats

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Narrow‐leaved lupins (NLL, Lupinus angustifolius L.) is recognized as a climate‐resilient protein crop but its use in food and feed is frequently limited by toxic quinolizidine alkaloids (QAs). The effect of intercropping with spring oat (Avena sativa L.) on grain QA content has not yet been quantified.

Wildfires' Cost for Societal Welfare: Economic Evaluation of Forestry Ecosystem Services Losses in Southern Italy

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Forest ecosystem services (ESs) are garnering increasing public attention as awareness grows regarding society's fundamental dependence on them for well‐being. Forest fires, one of the major disturbances of ESs, are becoming more frequent and destructive, exacerbated in part by climate change.

Vegetable Fibers for Composite Materials In Constructive Sector

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
The aim of the research is to study and to test bio-mixture for laminas to use in construction field components. Composite materials are becoming more common in different sectors, but their embodied energy is an environmental problem. For this, in recent years, the researchers investigate new mixtures for composites, in particular with vegetable fibers

Catalyst‐Free Mass Polymerization and Characterization of Bio‐Polyhydroxhyurethanes Based on Resorcinol Bis(Cyclocarbonate)

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
Non‐isocyanate polyhydroxyurethanes (PHUs) were synthesized from resorcinol bis(cyclocarbonate) and eco‐friendly diamines under mild, catalyst‐free conditions. The resulting polymers were extensively characterized for their structural, thermal, and mechanical properties, as well as processability and adhesion performance.
