RNF138‐Mediated Ubiquitination and Degradation of NS5 Restricts Tick‐Borne Encephalitis Virus Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Host‐specific compatibility between RNF138‐like proteins and flavivirus NS5 determines NS5 stability. Mammalian RNF138 but not arthropod homologs recognizes and induces conserved NS5/RdRp K48‐linked ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation, thereby restricting viral replication. Ectopic RNF138 in mice attenuates TBEV‐induced pathogenesis. (Created in

Immunostaining of targeted proteins in VERO E6 cells.

open access: yes, 2022
Representative immunostaining results obtained with the selected panel of primary antibodies targeting ACE-2, TMPRSS2, Cathepsin B, and Cathepsin L in VERO E6 cells (A) and targeting viral proteins Spike 3525 and Capside 40143 on VERO E6 cells infected ...

Effect of Canine Adenovirus on JINET and Vero Cells

open access: yesThe Japanese Journal of Veterinary Science, 1977
Two simian cell lines, JINET and vero, were inoculated with infectiouscanine hepatitis virus at a variety of input multiplicity. The viral effects observed onthem were compared with those on primary dog kidney cells. Infected cell cultures andrecovered viruses were subjected to serial passages. In JINET cells, virus titer remained constant without ...

p300 Degradation by the p53‐SIAH1 Axis Relieves TBK1 Acetylation to Enhance Innate Antiviral Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies p300 as the acetyltransferase that acetylates TBK1 and inhibits its phosphorylation. Activation of the p53‐SIAH1 axis by immune response downregulates p300 expression to sustain innate antiviral immunity. Conditional p300 knockout in alveolar epithelial cells in vivo promotes antiviral responses and suppresses virus replication ...

Comparison of BHK-SLAM cells and Vero cells.

open access: yes, 2016
(A) BHK-SLAM cells and Vero cells were grown to 80%–90% confluence in 24-well plates. Then, they were infected with rPPRV/GFP at an MOI of 0.01. At various time points after infection (every 24 h), images of GFP expression were taken.

MicroRNAs as potential biomarkers for VERO cell tumorigenicity

open access: yesVaccine, 2014
MicroRNA expression appears to capture the process of neoplastic development in vitro in the VERO line of African green monkey kidney (AGMK) cells (Teferedegne et al. PLoS One 2010;5(12):e14416). In that study, specific miRNA signatures were correlated with the transition, during serial tissue-culture passage, of low-density passaged 10-87 VERO cells ...

Mutation of the dengue virus type 2 envelope protein heparan sulfate binding sites or the domain III lateral ridge blocks replication in Vero cells prior to membrane fusion.

open access: yesVirology, 2013
Using an infectious cDNA clone we engineered seven mutations in the putative heparan sulfate- and receptor-binding motifs of the envelope protein of dengue virus serotype 2, strain 16681.

RNA‐Binding Protein RBM25 Targets the mRNA Stability of GTPase Rab22a to Restrict Viral Entry and Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies RNA‐binding protein RBM25 as a broad‐spectrum antiviral factor acting independently of type I interferon. It blocks viral entry by suppressing GTPase Rab22a via the RC3H1‐mediated destabilization of Rab22a mRNA. Viral downregulation of RBM25 enhances GTPase Rab22a expression and viral entry, revealing an unreported post ...
