ABSTRACT The sustainable advancement of aquaculture can be supported using functional feed ingredients with immunomodulatory activity. These studies evaluated the immunonutritional effects of dietary nucleotides (NU) and an olive bioactive extract (OE) in Pacific white shrimp (PWS), Penaeus vannamei. A 56‑day growth trial (n = 1000 PWS; PL42‐43; 1.23 ±

Relay Architectures and Ecological Strategies of Quorum Sensing Effects on Microbial Interactions
Quorum‐sensing activity in one population affects neighbouring populations through direct signal perception, QS‐regulated chemical effectors, or host‐ or environment‐mediated relays. Across distinct habitats, these relay architectures are associated with ecological strategies ranging from shared signal accessibility and reciprocal responsiveness to ...

This study presents a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Streptomyces sampsonii and a pangenome analysis of 95 strains, revealing a highly expansive “open” pangenome. Our results highlight that horizontal gene transfer (HGT) and accessory gene variations drive the evolution of secondary metabolism and environmental adaptation.

Experimental bacteriophage-mediated virulence in strains of Vibrio harveyi [PDF]
Vibriosis is a major disease problem in prawn aquaculture. Until now there has been no clear explanation why some strains of Vibrio are pathogenic, while others are not. This study demonstrated that the presence of the bacteriophage V. harveyi myovirus like (VHML) may confer virulence to V. harveyi Strain 642.
