POTENCY OF VIBRIO ISOLATES FOR BIOCONTROL OF VIBRIOSIS IN TIGER SHRIMP (PENAEUS MONODON) LARVAE
This study was carried out to obtain Vibrio isolates able to function as biocontrol of vibriosis in shrimp hatchery. Thirty one Vibrio isolates were isolated from tiger shrimp larvae and hatchery environments, i.e.

ASSOCIATION OF ASYMPTOMATIC MORTALITIES IN CULTURED WHITE SHRIMP, PENAEUS INDICUS WITH DOMINANCE OF NON-LUMINESCENT VIBRIO HARVEYI BIOTYPES IN MARICULTURE ENVIRONMENT [PDF]
Asymptomatic mortalities among cultured Penaeus indicus adults and postlarvae were recorded in summer season. Two non-luminescent Vibrio harvevi biotypes (V. harveyi- 1 and V.

A chromosomal mutation allows bypass of deletion of the Escherichia coli fabH gene. The bypass results from creation of a new promoter that drives increased madA transcription, resulting in increased synthesis of acetyl‐acyl carrier protein by decarboxylation of malonyl‐acyl carrier protein.

ABSTRACT Biofloc technology (BFT) offers a sustainable aquaculture strategy; however, the value of its byproduct, biofloc meal (BFM), as a feed ingredient requires validation for key species. This study evaluated the use of BFM from a tilapia–molasses system as a feed ingredient for white cachama (Piaractus orinoquensis) juveniles.

Transcriptional regulation of lux genes transferred into Vibrio harveyi
Past work has shown that transformed Escherichia coli is not a suitable vehicle for studying the expression and regulation of the cloned luminescence (lux) genes of Vibrio harveyi. Therefore, we have used a conjugative system to transfer lux genes cloned into E. coli back into V. harveyi, where they can be studied in the parental organism.

Tracing Genomic Divergence of Vibrio Bacteria in the Harveyi Clade [PDF]
To investigate the mechanisms underlying speciation in the genus Vibrio , we provided a well-assembled reference of genomes and performed systematic genomic comparisons among three evolutionarily closely related species.

ABSTRACT Stress hormones released during aquaculture handling and environmental disturbances can influence host–pathogen interactions, yet their effects on marine bacterial pathogens remain largely unexplored. This study examined how the stress hormone epinephrine affects the virulence of Vibrio alginolyticus isolated from diseased red drum (Sciaenops ...
