Reduced malignancy as a mechanism for longevity in mice with adenylyl cyclase type 5 disruption [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Disruption of adenylyl cyclase type 5 (AC5) knockout (KO) is a novel model for longevity. Because malignancy is a major cause of death and reduced lifespan in mice, the goal of this investigation was to examine the role of AC5KO in protecting against ...

Pharmacological Stimulation of Type 5 Adenylyl Cyclase Stabilizes Heart Rate Under Both Microgravity and Hypergravity Induced by Parabolic Flight

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2012
We previously demonstrated that type 5 adenylyl cyclase (AC5) functions in autonomic regulation in the heart. Based on that work, we hypothesized that pharmacological modulation of AC5 activity could regulate the autonomic control of the heart rate under

Non‐canonical nucleosides: Biomimetic triphosphorylation, incorporation into mRNA and effects on translation and structure

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 290, Issue 20, Page 4899-4920, October 2023., 2023
The expanding fields of mRNA therapeutics and epitranscriptomics require methods to produce RNA containing unnatural nucleosides. We have devised an adaptable system for the enzymatic triphosphorylation of a wide variety of non‐canonical nucleosides. This allows in vitro transcription of RNA containing modified nucleoside analogues and subsequent mRNA ...

Neonatal herpes simplex virus infection: From the maternal infection to the child outcome

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 95, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
Abstract This review examines the recent literature on the management of herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections in neonates. We summarized the three clinical categories of maternal HSV infection during pregnancy (primary first episode, nonprimary first episode, or recurrent episode) and the mechanisms of fetal damage.
