Working at Boimondau: A Community Experience

open access: yesSociology Lens, Volume 38, Issue 1, Page 66-74, March 2025.
Abstract In the 1940s and 1950s, France witnessed the emergence of labor communities whose ambition was to escape capitalism and abolish wage labor. This article focuses on Boimondau, the best‐known community at the time. In terms of work, the central activity in the life of the community, two main tensions lastingly structured the collective and ...

Investigation of the global transportation of Culicoides biting midges, vectors of livestock and equid arboviruses, from flower‐packing plants in Kenya

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, EarlyView.
Arboviral diseases spread by Culicoides biting midges have been introduced into Europe by unknown means. A possible route is the carriage of midges with cut flowers shipped to flower markets. We sampled Culicoides in and around a cut flower farm in Kenya; midges were caught in the vicinity and a greenhouse, but not where flowers are processed.

Real World Evidence Versus Randomised Controlled Trials: Is the Future of Nutritional Sciences Research in Electronic Health Records?

open access: yesNutrition Bulletin, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) are the gold standard of research studies. They aim to recruit participants with similar characteristics and randomly assign them to a treatment or control/placebo arm. Due to randomisation, RCTs provide comprehensive, unbiased evidence about treatment efficacy and safety and examine cause‐and‐effect ...

Autoactive MtDMI1 Reprogrammes Immunity and Development in Tomato via Ethylene Signalling

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Common Symbiosis Signalling Pathway (CSSP) underpins interactions between plants and microbes, yet its potential for crop improvement remains underexplored. Here, we investigated the gain‐of‐function mutant SPD1 (MtDMI1S760N), which constitutively activates the symbiotic signalling pathway in Medicago truncatula, by expressing it in tomato

Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi Mitigate Drought‐Enhanced Herbivore Performance in Maize

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Drought events are becoming increasingly frequent and intense, posing major challenges to crop productivity. Beyond direct water stress, drought can indirectly affect plants by enhancing herbivore performance. While arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) have been proposed to alleviate drought stress and to enhance plant resistance to herbivory ...
