RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

A study on the relationship between HCV NS3 and endogenous IRF-3
This study aims to investigate the relationship between hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS3/4A and endogenous interferon regulatory factor-3 (IRF-3). The localization of endogenous IRF-3 protein before and after virus infection was analyzed by immunofluorescence

In Vivo Activation of the Baboon Endogenous Virus
AbstractActivation of humoral immune responsiveness to the baboon endogenous type C virus (BaEV) and its viral-specific envelope glycoprotein gp71, as well as activation of gp71 itself, was experimentally accomplished in baboons by inoculating fetal bovine serum (FBS) or horse serum (HS) plus Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA) or by cellular and viral ...

Activation of influenza virus RNA polymerase by the 5' and 3' terminal duplex of genomic RNA
The current model for influenza virus mRNA transcription involves the sequential interaction of the viral polymerase with the 5'- and 3'-ends of vRNA, with each RNA-protein interaction triggering a polymerase function necessary for cap-primed ...

Activation and modulation of antiviral and apoptotic genes in pigs infected with classical swine fever viruses of high, moderate or low virulence [PDF]
The immune response to CSFV and the strategies of this virus to evade and suppress the pigs’ immune system are still poorly understood. Therefore, we investigated the transcriptional response in the tonsils, median retropharyngeal lymph node (MRLN), and ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

DYRK4 upregulates antiviral innate immunity by promoting IRF3 activation
Viral infection activates the transcription factors IRF3 and NF-κB, which induce type I interferon (IFN) and antiviral innate immune responses. Here, we identify dual-specific tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 4 (DYRK4) as an important regulator ...
