Nanobody‐Conjugated Theranostic Prodrug Targeting αvβ3 Integrin Enables Precision Cancer Therapy With Real‐Time Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The image shows a schematic form a nanobody‐conjugated theranostic prodrug (NBD) platform targeting tumor‐associated αvβ3 integrin. The NBD system integrates selective nanobody‐mediated tumor recognition, glutathione‐responsive disulfide cleavage for doxorubicin release, and aza‐BODIPY‐based near‐infrared fluorescence for real‐time imaging.

INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF TEMPERATUTE ON VITAMIN C IN FRESH AND PACKED FRUIT JUICES

open access: yesFUUAST Journal of Biology, 2021
Vitamin C in different juice samples, including fresh and packed juices, was investigated. The melting temperature of vitamin C is above 100 °C suggesting that boiling of vegetables does not destroy vitamin C, but the vitamin becomes dissolved in the ...

Vitamin C in Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesIntegrative Cancer Therapies, 2003
Vitamin C is a necessary nutrient for humans because we are unable to synthesize it. Most animals synthesize vitamin C in the liver from glucose, but humans have lost the gene encoding the last enzyme in a chain required for vitamin C synthesis. Other primates, the guinea pig, the fruit-eating bat, certain salmon and trout, and some grasshoppers are in

A Fully Human Engineered Bone Niche With Endogenous Osteoclastogenesis Reveals Osteoclast‐Dependent Osteomimicry in Prostate Cancer Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A human 3D bone niche integrating osteoblasts and osteoclasts enables co‐culture with prostate cancer cell lines and patient‐derived organoids. The engineered niche (i) models aspects of reciprocal phenotypic regulation between osteoblasts and cancer cells, (ii) captures osteoclast‐enhanced osteomimicry in tumor cells, and (iii) establishes a ...

Shellac‐Mediated Assembly of Nanoparticles for mRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A shellac‐mediated nanoparticle assembly strategy is presented, involving the complexation of mRNA and low‐molecular‐weight cationic molecules (e.g., polyethyleneimine, chitosan, lipids, and poly‐l‐lysine), followed by capping with shellac. This nanoparticle platform enables mRNA transfection following intravenous injection and facilitates gene editing

The role of vitamin C in the treatment of pain: new insights

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine, 2017
The vitamin C deficiency disease scurvy is characterised by musculoskeletal pain and recent epidemiological evidence has indicated an association between suboptimal vitamin C status and spinal pain.

Integrated Visible Light and Oxidant Protection Through Multifunctional Sunscreens

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
High‐energy visible radiation (HEVR), although less energetic than UV light, penetrates deeper into the skin and contributes to photoaging, pigmentation disorders, and oxidative stress. The development of new HEVR‐targeted filters, therefore, represents not only a scientific challenge but also a pressing public health and cosmetic industry need.
